My son loves this!,

This review is from: Count with Dora! (Dora the Explorer) (Board book)
My 22 month old son is totally head-over-heels with Dora, and he also loves enjoys counting activities. We just got this book yesterday, and he's already had us read it over and over. The numbers are very easy to find on the page, and the pictures are very cute and simple.
We aren't using the Spanish part of the book yet. Tico the squirrel (who, as all good Dora fans know, only speaks Spanish) presents the Spanish word in the corner of each page. My son always points to Tico, but the picture is done in a very non-distracting way.

Adorable little book for Dora fans,

My kids LOVE Dora and this sturdy little board book is the perfect introduction to counting in English and Spanish. They can pick out the various fruits, even the unusual ones like guavas and mangos, which are regular favorites in our home, and the bright and colorful pages keep them happily counting the fruit from one to ten.
There is even a handy little pronunciation bubble at the bottom on each page which comes in handy for me since I'm not bilingual but my husband is and we're trying to get our kids to speak Spanish and English while they are still young. The fact that this book is small makes it the perfect companion in the car and the heavy board pages stand up well to toddler hands.

Good basic counting book,

If your child likes Dora, this is a good book to have in the library. It is a board book, so it holds up well to wear. When my daughter likes a book she tens to read it over and over, so durability is important. I like the fact that she counts fruit, but some of the fruits are a little obscure for my daughter to remember- I've never seen a guava so I can't imagine how she will make the connection. I like having the numbers written in Spanish, and the phonetic pronunciation guide is helpful as well. This is also good if you own any of the videos, because Dora counts a lot, and the repetion of the numbers is helpful.

Kids Like Dora,

This book is fine for kids who like the "Dora the Explorer" TV program. However, there are two counting books that are superior: "One, Two, Three: This Book's for Me" by Dr. Seuss and "One, Two, Three: This Book's for Me" by Stuart Samuel.

Great book! It helps remind me of the correct pronunciation of the numbers. My kids love Dora (ages 2 and 4) and this helps me to teach them more Spanish.

This book is good because it is in english and spanish. The spanish words are spelled out phonetically for those of us who don't know spanish. Any Dora fan will have fun reading it.

My 18 month old daughter loves Dora. I bought this book in a boxed set so she could have some books with Dora. I really like this book because it uses different fruits and it's very colorful. Of course my daughter loves it since it's Dora. We've only had this book for about two weeks and I think I've read and/or listened to my husband read it about fifty times.

Good Bilingual Counting Book,

This review is from: Count with Dora! (Dora the Explorer) (Board book)
My daughter got this and a bunch of other Dora books when she was 22 months -- this one is one of her favorites. Not only is she learning how to count to ten in Spanish (not to mention English) using fruit, but she has picked up some Spanish words for fruit (her favorite type of food) -- now she sometimes asks for cherries and strawberries using their Spanish names. True, she has never seen or eaten a guava, and I don't know why common kid-friendly fruit like apples and grapes are not featured, but it's a book she asks to read over and over, and she has clearly benefitted. Since my knowledge of Spanish is limited to what I learned in middle school ages ago, I found the Spanish pronunciation offered on each page very helpful. Not every Dora book offers this, which would lead me to worry I am teaching her incorrect pronunciation (why bother to learn if you aren't saying it right?). As with every Dora book, the pictures are bright and simple and draw my daughter in.
