Editorial Reviews

About the Author

John Day was described as a change agent long before the phrase became fashionable. Formerly trained in Physics and Accountancy he combines his intuitive nature with a high level of analytical skills. His track record represents a passion for building a winning team and then driving for superior results.

John's career has covered all aspects of finance, accountancy, and information systems on an international scope. He is comfortable with ambiguity and uses his self-reliant style to achieve closure to business issues. In one period of six years the company he worked for fought off a hostile takeover, was acquired, merged with a foreign company, split into three global businesses and subsequently sold to six separate companies.

Known for his creative approach John has received several recognition awards for new product design, product acquisition and new systems development. He has had several business articles printed; covering IS measurements and automated selling systems.

With his recent completion of his novel, Countdown to Crisis 2000, John has added "noted author" to his list of impressive accomplishments. The book is a direct result of his experience and knowledge from implementing a solution to the Year 2000 issue in a major global company.

A native of Great Britain John is a graduate of London University and a Fellow Member of the Institute of chartered Accountants. He has also attended executive courses at Insead, Cornell, Columbia and Stanford.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good story but not great, April 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Countdown to Crisis 2000 (Paperback)
The story Countdown to Y2k was a decent story. The story takes place between Austrailia, Hawaii, Russia and the Mainland U.S. The stories are all possible with regards to y2k such as the power going out, banks not working, but the part I didn't like about the story was the criminal part of it. The story takes on a whole side story regarding a major heist worth $90 million.
