5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
This book is great for any new mom. I have purchased it for both of my girlfriends the minute the found out they were pregnant. It is a great starter book, and it lets you check your babies development day by day. FANTASTIC!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but inaccurate
I found this calendar to be very cute. The information on development was fun to read each day. The days past and the days remaining were correct but the weeks weren't. For some reason the weeks were off by a week. I followed the instructions in filling out the dates and my dates matched up with the days on each page but the weeks didnt match. Im not sure how they...

5.0 out of 5 stars Expectant Grandparents, February 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Countdown to a Miracle: The Making of Me (Spiral-bound)
As expectant grandparents of two, one being born in March and one in July, we are thoroughly enjoying Countdown to a Miracle. Following along in two books, we are able to watch the fascinating daily development of each baby. Although we're 3,000 miles away, the book has helped us feel more connected. It's as though the babies are talking to us. AMAZING!

When I ordered this, it wasn't what I had expected but I enjoyed it completely. It was great to see what developments your child was making daily and gave me a lot of useful information I may not have known about. I'm getting a copy for my best friend who just found out she was pregnant. She'll love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars response from the author, June 19, 2006
In response to the two people who mentioned that the calendar is off by two weeks... It is important to follow the instructions given at the beginning of the book when filling in your dates. If they are not followed, you will be off by two weeks.

Countdown to a miracle is a spiral bound book that counts down the days to the birth of your baby. Each day tells a little something about the growth of the baby. You can track the baby's developement with ease, as this book sits up. I had mine on my desk and each morning I'd flip the page to read about the baby growing inside my belly. It's a book I'll cherish, and my baby will cherish, as I was able to write down the date. It's like having a little history book once the baby is born!

I heard about this book through a book review site, and had just found out that I was going to be a grandmother! There are so many wonderful books about pregnancy I had recommended for my daughter, but a book from the baby's point of view was too intriguing to pass up. When I received "The Making of Me", I got comfortable in my favorite chair and read it all in one sitting! I ohhed and ahhhed all the way through, smiling, cooing, and laughing. It is perfectly written and designed, a wonderful tool for first time moms-to-be, grandmothers who've forgotten much of this information, dads to be, grandpas, and aunts and uncles! I absolutely love it and so does my daughter!

My husband bought this for us when I was pregnant with our first son. It's such a nice little way to track the baby's progress and we really enjoyed looking at it each night before bed. We enjoyed it all over again when I got pregnant with our second son. We liked it so much that we have sent several to friends upon learning that they were pregnant. Definitely recommend.
