This book came in the mail today and I love it!! It breaks the wedding details down into very do-able steps. The book takes the overwhelming task of planning a wedding and explains it in small tasks, week by week,and makes your "wedding vision" seem easy to achieve. It's obvious that the author has "been there, done that" many times for brides. Also there is a list of wedding websites in the back of the book.

If you wake up in a cold sweat and worry that you're going to forget something important, then this book is the antidote. In a well-written anecdotal style, the book presents practical steps readers can follow, and allows brides and grooms to gain confidence and make better decisions. The book's practical tips apply equally well to grand, formal affairs and to casual barefoot ceremonies on the beach.

In sharing her many years of experience, the author saves you time, and also saves you money and heartache by pointing out the key questions to ask of vendors and the pitfalls to avoid. The book pays for itself many times over.

I particularly liked the examples of real brides and real weddings, the latest trends, and the comprehensive resource guide at the end of the book. This book is so good, even other event planners recommend it!

This book is the most important tool anyone could use to plan a wedding or event. The format makes the process makes it easier to understand the event process. Wedding planner guides group tasks in difficult monthly chunks, where Joyce provides weekly tasks making them easier to accomplish. Her expertise and advice is a valuable tool. She has planned many fabulous events throughout the county and has been very successful at it. Learn from the best!

if you are planning your own wedding, and you are on a budget i would never recommend this book for you. i found getting through the whole book while planning our wedding comparable to being force fed handfuls of discouragement. most noticeably, her priorities are so far from my line. after reading her suggestions figures and budget, were so far off from do-able in my area, that i am positively more concerned for my shortcomings than i am excited for our day. if you are looking for a book to absolutely nitpick every tiny little head aching detail and unnecessary expense, than this is defiantly the book for you. i am absolutely discouraged and absolutely frustrated after reading this. in my opinion, if you have a budget under $20,000 do not read this book.

For every couple that wants to plan their own wedding, this is a MUST READ!! Joyce has organized the tedious tasks of the wedding planning process into a week by week guide, making it easier for couples to focus on specific tasks and not get overwhelmed. It also helps couples to better understand what each Event Professional does in their own special fields, and why they charge the way that they do. There are so many valuable tips to planning a successful wedding that can be found in Joyce's book. As an icing to the cake, it's also fun to read!

Countdown to Your Perfect Wedding is my life saver!! This is the first book that I have seen to give you all of the needed information in an organized manner. Other books or websites tend to overwhelm you with all of the information that needs to be covered when planning a wedding; this book has set up a timeline that can be altered to everyone's needs and lets you know what needs to be done each week. It's easy to see that the author knows what she is talking about, and seems to speak to you personally as you read. I'm having a blast planning my wedding, and I'm so happy to have found this book!

"Countdown To Your Perfect Wedding" is both informative and easy to read. As an event designer, Joyce clearly has a passion for her craft, and she's also generous with information - in the spirit of an educator. Her thorough, well-organized approach - with a wealth of details - will eliminate misconceptions brides may have regarding planning their wedding. I was captivated by her description early in the book of an unusual asian wedding that she did. I only wish I had been able to photograph it.

I have to start out saying that I am not the type of person to write a review. Now there are so many wedding planner books that all say the same thing, but this is by far the best and most informative book I read. There are so many stresses when planning a wedding and this book tells you what you have to do and when. You don't need to spend thousands on a wedding planner, all you need is this book. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone needing help on planning a wedding...and if you are planning a wedding, you know you need all the help you can get! This book if worth every penny! THE ONLY WEDDING PLANNER YOU NEED IS THIS BOOK! TRUST ME!!

This book has the amazing ability to cover absolutely every thing you need to think of when planning a wedding and also walks you through the step by step process to making it a huge success. Other wedding planning books were a bit too "on the surface" giving me pointers that I had heard before or weren't realistic. The tips within this book, whether you are a bride on a budget, or have limitless funds, will show you how to add the special elements that make it your wedding. Joyce has managed to create a planning timeline that is realistic, not overwhelming, shows you how to be incredibly creative (even if at times you be creatively challenged) and makes planning your wedding an enjoyable process.
