Can't Put Together?,

We just got this at our house today and are having a hard time putting the chairs together. Any tips? We can put the legs on (mostly...the screws don't go in all the way and if they do, then it looks like it's not holding the seat on), but the bars that connect the legs seem impossible to push in!
Any tips for assembling the chairs?

I bought this dining set and was very pleased with it. Thank goodness, I was home because it was two large boxes, packaged perfectly to ensure safe delivery. I lost the directions and the company was kind of enough to send me a PDF version. ASAP! Excellent service.
