Counter Height Dining Table and Chairs with Lazy Susan

After eyeing this table for a few weeks, I decided to buy it. I had never bought furniture online, but decided to take a chance. The table is so heavy!! It is solid and beautiful. The wine storage under the table is much larger than I thought, and can easily hold 8 wine bottles; probably more. It has doors on both sides, so that you can acess it from either side. It is so well made!! It was completely boxed, table and chairs, but so easy to put together. No missing screws or off-centered markings. Well packed, lasey susan arrived intact and is just breath taking to look at!! I am so happy with my purchase.

We finally received our table set, and are very pleased with it. The dark espresso wood is elegant and the pub seat height lends a nice sort of ambiance to the dining area...a pleasant change of pace from your run-of-the-mill dining set. Guests who've been by have commented that they very much liked the height and appearance of this set. It lends itself to a more casual, comfortable feel because of the pub height and lazy susan, but the color and design of the entire set are such that it's all still elegant and befitting a formal dinner as well. My husband says that the assembly was not all that difficult or long, and we had no problems with the lazy susan whatsoever. My husband suspects they may have corrected any design flaws it may have once had.

I have looked for this same table elsewhere on the net, and every search turned up the same vendor, Visiondecor...so I don't think it's available from any other vendor, and as such, I think their delivery and customer service performance are relevant to a proper review on this set. I would've given 5 stars on this review based on the table alone, but because of our delivery experience, I dropped down to 4 stars.

In short, they were quite disappointing. Or at least, the delivery company that they use is quite disappointing. The table took a full MONTH to arrive, coming well past its promised delivery date. We tried calling the delivery company, but on the several occasions we tried, we got no answer. (How can you be in the business of scheduling and not have anyone manning your phones during normal business hours???) We came home one day to find a note from their delivery crew stating that they had come by to attempt delivery, and we were not home. Huh?? You want to deliver an order that's so large that it comes on a pallet and requires a crew to move, and you just SHOW UP with it??!

Upon finding this attempted delivery note, we called them. We finally got them, along with an attitude that we were interrupting them--they were rude, abrupt, and unpleasant, on top of being incompetent. We learned that they had tried several times in the previous week to schedule delivery, but we supposedly never answered the phone. We found this hard to believe, as my husband was home most of the time, and our calls forward to our cell phones when we're not home...so we were quite sure we'd never gotten any calls. When we verified the number they were calling, we learned that they were calling my mother's home. We've NO clue how they even got my mother's phone number, as we never gave it out--my mom is deaf, and only even has an active phone line for emergency phone calls out. The table was indeed paid for with mom's credit card, as it was a housewarming gift from her, but it was ordered on MY Amazon account, which has her number NOWHERE. Can they get the cardholder's phone number from their credit card company somehow???

In any event, we provided our correct phone number, and were told we would get a phone call following the weekend to re-schedule. We never got a call, and the delivery crew just showed up the following Monday. Apparently, they called again and got no answer (because, as it turns out, they continued to call mom's!! WTH?!!), and so, once again, without any confirmed delivery time, they just SHOWED UP with this giant delivery. It was just fortunate we happened to be home at the time...that's the only reason we have our table now.

In short, if you order this table, you should be quite happy with the product, but be prepared for an exasperating delivery experience.

UPDATE 1/6/11: We were contacted by Visiondecor regarding our negative review on Amazon, and offered a $125 refund if we would at least remove the negative Seller Feedback we'd given them. We felt this was reasonable, as the delivery was the sole problem to us in this whole purchase, and this refunded most of the delivery costs. I've upgraded them to 5 stars again. They obviously are concerned about customer feedback. The rep from Visiondecor explained that they were experimenting with different delivery companies to see which ones would best serve all their delivery needs. Obviously, the one that delivered to us was a let-down. Hopefully, they never use them again. I see that several other people have had favorable delivery experiences...hopefully Visiondecor can find a delivery company or companies to repeat the good experiences, because everything else about the product and the experience with Visiondecor seems great.

The set itself is beautiful. Unique look, very functional, and I love the extra height. The price was very good too considering it came with a full set of eight chairs so now that it's assembled and we've been using it I am quite happy. But there were a couple of things that I would like to submit for consideration to future buyers of this set.

1. It's labor intensive. The table is simple enough to assemble but the eight chairs... what an upper body workout. I did do it myself though.

2. The instructions for the table were missing so I had to figure it out on my own based on the photo. Luckily there weren't too many pieces or hardware for it.

3. One of the pre-drilled holes had a nail running through the center of it making me unable to insert into it the necessary hardware. I assembled it anyway but it bothers me this was not perfect and is the main reason I took off a star.

4. Delivery is curbside only, even though it cost over $120. I would think that it should include at least bringing it inside the building (which the driver ended up doing anyway.. being a nice guy... but the delivery company rep i spoke to had a major attitude and insisted this cannot be done.

All this being said, once assembled the set is delightful, functional and I anticipate enjoying it for a long time.

I was very unsure about buying furniture online without seeing first but after reading other reviews I decided to go for it. Had some problems with slow delivery taking about a month. The table set is beautiful but not kid friendsly. The table top is VERY soft wood and just writing on a piece of paper goes through and indents the wood table. This set is more for looks than actaul use. Easy to build but not very sturdy.

I think this table looks great!! I love the style and everything, but I'm really bummed that 2 of the chairs broke within the first 2 weeks. I wish I would have bought a set that had a warranty. Now I have to find a place that sells just the chairs and try to replace them. It will end up costing me more money than if I just went to my local furniture store where they have a warranty. I love this set but wish the chairs were made stronger.

I've had my table for almost 2 years now and still love it! It is heavy, sturdy, and still looks just as good as it did when I set it up. I didn't find the set up hard at all and actually put most of it together myself. I've also had a lot of compliments on it and even had a friend purchase the table for herself. Great buy!

The table and chairs are great. It is sturdy, provides exactly what we were looking for and assembly was a breeze. However, the glass insert for the lazy susan has "Tempered Glass" written in it. It's not a sticker and is under the frosted coating on the bottom of it. We tried to get a new one, but were told that we should have caught it when it was delivered. My husband and I were both working so weren't home at the time of the delivery to inspect it.

I must say that this 9pc dining table is amazing. Very very beautiful and good quality specially for it's price. Took some time to put it all together but it was totally worth it. My friends love it and tells me take good care of it. I love how it fitted in my kitchen, thought it would take much more space but it didn't it was perfect. It fits 8 people perfectly and comfy to rest your feet. I would recommend this set for sure even though i wanted to be the only one with this set jajaja but of course it wasn't design just 4 me, LOL just joking. Just put a beautiful touch on the table and there u have it nice and fancy.

I don't usually place orders for furniture online for the risk of not getting what I expect. When I recieved the table it exceeded my expectations. The table was beautiful and was exactly what I thought it would be. It arrived in perfect condition. The table was simply designed and took me no time at all to assembly. The chairs were easily put together as well. Good quality. I had questions on the arrival time but Visiondecor responded quickly to me and was very pleasant to work with. They seem to deliver what they say they will. I would order from them again in a heartbeat.

We were a little skeptical at first about ordering furniture online. With the costs being so much lower on amazon.com compared to local furniture stores for the same dining set we decided to go for it. The dining set is everything in the description and more. We couldn't be happier with it and would recommend it to anyone wanting a counter height dining set. It not only added a lot of style but is well built and very sturdy.
