When crime crashes in, Nancy finds that the money may be fake, but the danger is all too real!

Bess has gotten a real surprise for Christmas: two crisp new twenties that turn out to be fake. Her aunt, who works at River Heights magazine, unwittingly passed them along, and Nancy's out to trace the funny money to is source. But there's one very big distraction: suspect Stuart Teal. He has looks to die for...and clearly has designs on Nancy.

Stuart may want to corner the market on Nancy's affections, but she can't afford to take the chance...especially when another top suspect is found dead. Drawn into a world where greed rules and life isn't worth a plug nickel. Nancy has no choice but to keep her eye on the bottom line. She's searching for a counterfeiter who fits the bill of a murderer.

More About the Author

Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon are the pseudonyms under which many ghostwriters penned the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, respectively. Both series were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate book packaging firm, in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet, and syndicate writer Mildred Wirt Benson were the two people primarily responsible for bringing the iconic character of Nancy Drew to life in the minds and hearts of millions of readers around the world.

I think that this is a great book to read around Christmas time. The book is about when Bess's aunt gives her 2 20 dollar bills and when Bess goes to spend them, she is almost arrested for spending counterfeit money. Nancy clears her, but soon, she finds herself locked in a case to find the counterfieters before anyone else is killed, just like her first main suspect. Nancy soon finds herself liking one of her main suspects, and that causes her to start worrying about what Ned would think.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT BOOK!!! CHECK YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, November 26, 1997

This review is from: Counterfeit Christmas (Nancy Drew Files #102) (Paperback)
Bess is about to spend the two twenties her aunt gave her on X-mas presents when the holiday cheer takes a terrible turn. Bess is accused of forgery because the twenties are counterfeit. Fortuneately, Bess is cleared, but the mystery of who made those twenties still remains. One of the main suspects is Marco, a person in high school that made counterfeit money; but before Nancy can find anything out Marco is murdered. Nancy recieves many threatening letters telling her to get off the case. It isn't making it easier because of the fact that Nancy finds herself being drawn to irresistable , Stuart Teal, who is a main suspect! She seems to be forgetting about the possible dangers of dating Stuart, and what about her longtime boyfriend Ned? I couldn't keep this book down for one second!
