More About the Author

As a nine-year-old, Karen Sandler was a horse-crazy kid with an over-active imagination. When that pony she begged for didn't appear on Christmas morning, she wrote about horses in poetry and stories. It took until she was an adult to both buy her first horse (the very unladylike Lady) and see her first book published. Since then, she's sold seventeen other books. In addition to writing novels, short stories and screenplays, she loves riding her beautiful Andalusian/Morgan mare, Belle (who is very ladylike). She lives in Northern California with her husband, Gary, and three cats--pleasingly plump Tenka, formerly feral Zak, and cranky diabetic Casper. 4.0 out of 5 stars What a termoil - Attracted but don't dare touch????, December 31, 2006

Is there such a thing as instant attraction? Just looking into another person's eyes?

That seems to be what happened to the rugged rancher Tom Jarret and Andrea Larson. Andrea was just passing through Hart Valley and Tom was on his way to Hart Valley Elementary School to meet with his daughter's principal.

Nine year old Jessie was causing trouble at school and apparently had not given notes or phone calls to her father to see the principal.

Beth, Tom's sister, came up with a solution to Tom's problem of needing someone to help watch Jessie. Andrea was a credited teacher. Tom needed her, at least until the end of the school year.

Jessica was stubborn, rebellious and determined to get her own way and tried to take advantage of the fact of her scarred arm. Andrea proved to be good for Jessie. But a hot distraction to Tom.

Then we start all of the "I can't touch, but I want to anyway." Tom had gotten burned by his ex-wife, Lori and Andie had gotten involved with a fruitcake of a boy-friend. Neither wanted to commit to a relationship.

Tom acknowlegded the Andrea was not a one night stand. But that was all he would offer. Andrea was not going to stay - she had been moving on for the past two years.

The story seemed to prove that some people falling in love were idiots.
They know right from wrong but give into their hormones anyway.
Fortunately Andrea had fallen in love with Jessie and didn't want to leave Tom.

A lot of emotion - excellent relationship plot - steamy scenes - Ah, try it you should like it.
