If you ever thought that (1) Rumstein was the only band to come out of Germany. (2) Farmer Boys are a bunch of farmers who play there bangos around a fire. Then you should find a gun , a alley, and put an end to you exsistance. The way this CD has been musicly put together is amazing. They can move from a true heavy metal riff, straight into backing harmany giutars that would bring a tear to any church organist. Not only does farmer boys have a graet guitar line up, because there vocalist is also a forced to be reckonded with. The slight German acsent in his voice gives life to songs that just wouldn't be the same without it. Do yourself a favour and throw your money at these demi-gods of music. Now!

Farmer Boys first album always reminded me of Faith No More. And I'm not speaking in a fruity nu-metal way. No, what we have here is clever lyrics and some great chords melting together to form one of the best albums ever, just like Faith No More's Angel Dust. No fillers on this ride. From the start of the brooding Farm Sweet Farm through tempo-tracks like When A Chicken Cries For Love and the slower In A Distance To God to the great finale of Countrified.
The theme on this album (and on the follow-up) is disturbing tales from a farm. Sounds weird but it fits the music like a glove. The band never wrote an album of this caliber again so check this one out!

This CD rules. Musically, it is a metal masterpiece. These guys can definitely play their instruments, and this CD, while it is their debut (I think), it is still as good as their follow up Till The Cows Come Home. The whole farmer thing is just an image, you know, like metal bands feel they need. These guys most certainly do NOT need a gimick to succeed, as they can, and have, succeeded on the strength of their music. If you like metal then you should own this, and if you're ever in Germany then check them out. You won't be sorry.
