Beautiful music but be careful fo the version,

This is just lovely piano music. If you like Liz Story or George Winston, you'll love this. There are two versions of this album. The first one is the one to have. The second, with additional tracks is done on an electronic/sampled piano and sounds terrible in comparison to the first. It's not worth having the extra tracks

Best of the Airs,

Sea Airs, Night Airs and Country Airs are some of the best of Wakeman's new age music. Embracing a relaxed, earthy style they remind me of Pink Floyd's development of a style of music that evokes color, emotion and a sense of wonder. The dramatics are not there, but Wakeman seems to embrace his muse with affection and great respect.
Definitely not elevator music but it can be played for background color in a number of different venues. All three are worth owning whether you are a Wakeman fan or not.

I don't think people give enough thought to how good of a composer Rick Wakeman really is. I have several piano albums by George Winston and Micheal Jones. This CD is definitly on Par with those Artists. Great background for dinner, relaxing etc. If you enjoy piano, you'll like this

Solo piano. Lovely melodies. Soothing. Calming. Beautiful

This is so good, it exceeds my meager attempt to praise it.,

Rick Wakeman, one of the greatest rock keyboardists sits down at a piano and generates pure emotion, capturing the essence of the country; whether it be a meadow or a stream, his music enables you to see the image of that idyllic, perfect expression of PLACE. This colection of songs is perfectly balanced as to send you into a rapture, forgetting all your cares and worries and just sinking deeper and deeper into a sort-of giant musical marshmallow. Music has never been so pure.

One of Rick's BEST piano albums,

Growing up with a love of top-40 rock & roll, it blows my mind to think just how MUCH I've come to love Rick Wakeman doing an album of instrumental piano music. First done in 1986, this was, strangely enough, completely re-recorded in 1992 with 4 new tracks added. In either case, it's STUNNING! If you ever feel the urge to unwind & relax from daily pressures, this will help you do it without actually having to GO for a walk in the woods. Also highly recommended to anyone who enjoys this would be its "companion" albums SEA AIRS and NIGHT AIRS, as well as HERITAGE SUITE and my personal favorite, THE CLASSICAL CONNECTION, on which Rick re-did 10 of his best tracks on the Grand Piano! WONDERFUL!

There's not much to say about this CD other than the fact that it is simply easy, calming piano music. I first heard it on the landscape channel years ago and I've been keen on it since. Pick up a copy if you find it cheap.

If this is the album I think it might be, it's lovely.,

I heard Wakeman piano solos back in 1988. If this album is 1994, it can't be it. Sad.
