5.0 out of 5 stars Chase Rice Kicks Country A$$ July 15, 2011
Format:MP3 Music
Ok, so Chase Rice may be best known for his stint on Survivor, but country music fans will get to know that there's more to Chase than his ability to roast a rat or build a shelter in Nicaragua. This boy can sang (and he's hot!). Personally, I don't get into the whole Survivor thing so I hadn't heard of Chase for anything other than his awesome music and for that, I am glad because it means I've paid attention to him for what he's best at, his music. I'm doing a double cd review which includes his cd, "Country as Me" and his upcoming EP, "Bring on Summer", both of which are outstanding. I had the pleasure of sitting down and chatting with Chase for awhile before his performance in the "Best Damn Country" tour back in May and he's just as charming and down to earth as he is talented. He played his country boy ass off and let me tell you, he was a HIT!

This cd, written by Chase, Jesse Rice and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line, consists of 6 country freakalicious songs and who can't love a cd with a first track titled "Heathens in the Evenin"? Somehow I believe this even tempo song is pretty much right on track when it comes to describing Chase. I bet he IS a heathen in the evenin and from what I saw when he took the stage in Raleigh, the women seemed to agree. When Chase sings, you can hear his honest love of country music in his voice and you can see the passion he has for music in his performance. The second track on this cd, "Buzz Back", has actually turned into my theme song, not meaning an alcohol induced buzz, but a natural buzz, a good feeling about things after a time of not feeling so good about them. Everytime I listen to this song, I know I've got my "buzz" for life back.
