I waited a long time for this book to come out!!! I'm so glad it was worth the wait. Blake did it again! Q is the MAN! Straight out of prison and taking care of business. There are lots of surprises and some new players. The gang is still doing they thing and the ladies have joined in to make sure everything and everyone is taken care of! Expect the unexpected. Can't wait for the next one!!! Kuddos Mr. Karrington

3.0 out of 5 stars Country Boy Part 2 January 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Hmmm I have mixed emotions about this book. I like Q but I just can't get with all of the different women and all that. Hell he was crying when poor Van got hurt but look at how he was doing her, I mean dang he had a baby with Tee. Q went very hard for his family and that is great. I feel that the author used to many characters and it was hard to keep up with who was with who and so on. I am interested to see what the author has up his sleeve with part 3?

4.0 out of 5 stars *FYI spolier alert** November 27, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read both part 1 and part 2---the story definitely seemed more interesting in part 2 then one. At times I had a love hate relationship with Q, he had no business being in a relationship with anyone---male whore. What I loved about his character was he went hard for his family and was very protective over him. I hope Tee wises up and leaves him but its pretty clear that he won't be leaving Van anytime soon. The only thing I wish the author would do different is less characters---at times it was difficult to keep track of what was going on people there was so many characters. I felt like this in both parts.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read if bored but not a good book December 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The way the female characters behave in this book is just unrealistic. Why write a fictional book about real life situations and human feelings but make it so unrealistic. What woman you know that has a man in the hustle game, will settle for her man having other women? The author makes Q as if he has it going on and every woman he meets drops her panties for him. Q has no consequenses and it makes the book boring. The women stick by him and they all get along like one big happy family set in a brothel.

5.0 out of 5 stars COUNTRY BOY II February 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Ok you know I'm your number one fan. :-) The first to ask for part two and I am here to say I am pleased. This book is like a move that you just want to see over and over again. It keeps you on point where you can't put it down until you finish and then you just want more. Like I do right now. LoL! I will not lie, I checkout the kindle form everyday to see if theirs any new information on when part three is to be released. Now that I have a date (March25) I hope that's right. I just want to tell everyone that if your looking for a great long read that will keep you wanting more. Just go and buy all of BLAKE KARRINGTON books, trust it's worth it :-)

4.0 out of 5 stars Van is that BYTCH!!!! January 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Van is that BYTCH!!! She held it down for her man. This book had so many twists & turns I could not get enough. Once again June was murderous! I really wish Q would let go of all the woman including Tee just give his heart to VAN. There is just so much going on with the PG Crew I cant keep up. I cannot wait for the next book, anxious to see what happens with Van & her attacker & also waiting to see if Q wil finally give his love to Van & Van only. Touche!

This was a great book. I enjoyed part 1 more, but it was definitely good. A few grammatical and typos though. I would suggest a better editor.

More About the Author

Blake Karrington is more than an author. He's a storyteller who places his readers in action-filled moments. It's in these creative spaces that readers are allowed to get to know his complex characters as if they're really alive.
Most of Blake's titles are centered in the South, in urban settings, that are often overlooked by the mainstream. But through Blake's eyes, readers quickly learn that places like Charlotte, NC can be as gritty as they come. It's in these streets of this oft overlooked world where Blake portrays murderers and thieves alike as believable characters. Without judgment, he weaves humanizing back stories that serve up compelling reasons for why a drug dealer might choose a life of crime.
Readers of his work, speak of the roller coaster ride of emotions that ensues from feeling anger at empathetic characters who always seem to do the wrong thing at the right time, to keep the story moving forward.
In terms of setting, Blake's stories introduce his readers to spaces they may or may not be used to - streetscapes with unkept, cracked sidewalks where poverty prevails, times are depressed and people are broke and desperate. In Blake storytelling space, morality is so curved that rooting for bad guys to get away with murder can sometimes seem like the right thing for the reader to do - even when it's not.
Readers who connect with Blake find him to be relatable. Likening him to a bad-boy gone good, they see a storyteller who writes as if he's lived in the world's he generously shares, readily conveying his message that humanity is everywhere, especially in the unlikely, mean streets of cities like Charlotte.

I had the same thoughts while reading the books. I was like dang these women LOVE this dude cause I don't think I could do it! Although his charm and charisma were off the charts, he had way too many women.
