5.0 out of 5 stars Silly fun! March 30, 2011
By Kanzum
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game for my wife thinking that it would be a great addition to our other dance games. I admit, I was disappointed when I saw that it used only the regular WII controller and not the dance pad. However, we decided to give it a try and I have to say that it was an absolute blast! After trying a few time we were able to keep up with the on-screen animations, but it is not as punishing if you are not right on as some other dance games are. This is important for us because our small kids love to play as well and can do so with this game, but my wife and I can also try it looking for those perfect scores.

If you are looking for a serious dance game this one is not for you. If, however ,you want a game that you can just have "silly fun" with then this is a great choice. My wife and I had to finally pull ourselves away from it because we were having just to much fun with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just for fun April 1, 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I love it. This games takes less concentration than the games that require a dance pad or a balance board; you're mimicking a dancer on-screen instead of watching for arrows and combinations. The only thing you need to use is the basic Wii controller. I have some games for the Wii dance pad and the balance board, but my young children sometimes get frustrated with them. I also get a little frustrated with the dance pad games because the jumping sometimes changes the way you line up with the arrows and then you score poorly. Country Dance is easy, energetic, and fun. I saw one review that called it "silly fun." I agree with that. I'm not much of a country dancer, but I wonder if I could become one by playing this more and more. Finally, a dance game that 4 people can play in a small space because you don't need 4 dance pads or balance boards - you only need the original Wii controller and a little personal space so you don't hit anyone while you dance just for fun. Even my smallest, most uncoordinated child who can't reach every arrow on a dance pad can enjoy this game. I like the music choices, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable! April 10, 2011
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I have had the game for several days now and I must say, it's an enjoyable game. I have not played many of the other dance games out there but I have read many reviews that complain the moves are the same on every dance and the country game is lame; these made me leery to buy it. I am, however, a big country music fan and had to have it.

I was a little disappointed that they only have one song that you can "practice" to instead of being able to practice moves on each of the dances (like on guitar hero you can practice all songs). And I was also a little disappointed that there really are not a lot of songs to dance too; though there is a good selection, some I was surprised they dug up!

In regard to the dance moves being all the same, yes they do flow into other dances; however, I think people are very use to the hip-hop dance games where each dance is always unique. Country music dancing in itself is a simple form of dancing. It is line dancing; most moves are going to be the same and I think that as they continue to modify the game for the next country dance they will take more dance moves into consideration. Overall, I think it's a good game if you just want to have fun every now and then. Though, I do recommend waiting for the price to come down or buying a good used version at a lower price!

Update: I found that you can practice all the dances!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome game! April 13, 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
So, I saw the commercial for this game a few days ago and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. My birthday just two weeks ago so I saved my money, but then a friend ended up buying it for me. I was hooked! I own the other dance games for the wii but this one is my favorite so far. I love country music and the whole time I am dancing, I want to just sing and just be free. I recommend this game to anyone who wants to have fun with their friends and goof off and dance to some good old country music. Take this from a 17 year old, this game is worth the expense.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Fun, Everyone Enjoys the game!! April 7, 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is a very fun game. I bought it for my girlfriend. She and I both play it all the time and it is a blast. The controls are very easy to use and the game has the best names in country you can ask for!! Couldn't have asked for a better game to dance with my girlfriend, friends and family!!

The one downside that the game has is that its only one difficulty so your not able to challenge yourself if you are a great dancer.

This is a great game for the kids, teens, and adults who like to dance but don't like to be challenged at every step of the way!! Each song is fit for all audiences to use and is super fun.

Hope all of you enjoy it as much as we do!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Slightly disappointed April 20, 2011
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I have mixed feelings about this game. I mainly got it as a form of exercise since I discovered I really like dancing as exercise. I've got Dance Workout and Just Dance 2 (both by Ubisoft), and I wanted to add to my exercise choices. I love the musical choices in Country Dance (really, really LOVE the song choices); however, I expected this game to be more like Just Dance 2. There are a lot of similarities, so much so that it makes the differences stand out even more. I wish Country Dance had a "sweat" program like Just Dance 2, but I can live without that feature since I'm getting exercise whether or not the game is telling me I'm exercising. However, I don't feel I'm getting as good a workout with Country Dance. Country Dance seems to concentrate more on arm movements than foot movements, so I'm not burning as many calories as I'd like. I also dislike that with Country Dance I can't just go into the music and move down the line from song to song and play/exercise as long as I want. Instead, I have to pick how many songs I want (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or all). Yeah, I know, after I do 5 songs, I can go back in and do 5 more songs, but it's a hassle that really isn't necessary had the programmers been thinking logically. Okay, so, now that I've picked my number of songs, I can now choose which songs I want to dance to, but after each song you do, the program brings you back to the first song choice instead of leaving off at the song you just did, which means you have to flip through the lineup again to pick up where you left off, so that's annoying. As far as the dance routines, you've got the little icons telling you which move is coming up next, but the icons don't seem as explicit as Just Dance 2's icons. You really have to watch the avatar to figure out what you're doing. Read more ›
