Don't be put off by the fact that the tracks listed here for this album are undoubtedly from some other album by an artist with a similar name. There isn't a single Christmas song on this excellent reissue of two of Hawkshaw's RCA recordings.
I had to have this after hearing it at my in-laws. I thought it was Hank Williams at first, but gradually realized the guy with the rich voice had a thing all his own. If you like vintage honky tonk country, you'll be glad you picked this up. Some of the songs are a little on the goofy novelty side but I've got room in my tastes for that. Particularly Rebound, which uses an echoplex on the tag line. An early studio effect which made me smile.

The honky tonk man of Country who was married to Jeane Shepherd a country singer in her own right.It's always nice to hear Hawkshore and i never tire of his gentle tones.Plenty of good songs to caress ones eardrums, lets have more.

This is a wonderful double CD collection by him. It displays his talents to the enth degree. It is a great find and should be added to everyone's HAWK OF THE WEST VIRGINA HILLS music collection.
