Having worked in a vitamin store many years ago, I am very familiar with Country Life products. They are an excellent product and I trust the purity and strength of their vitamins and minerals. This is a great product, IF YOU CAN GET AROUND THE TASTE! It is horribly bitter with a long nasty aftertaste. I will not order again as I threw the entire bottle out. Nature's Plus is also a fantastic product and they taste great! Just ordered them to replace the Country Life I tossed.

I can't believe these are still around. I remember my mom giving them to me 25 years ago!

I have discovered since then that supplements are very much like regular medicine; you have to be careful, take them sparingly, and observe your reactions closely. Mega-dose multivitamins have caused all kinds of problems with my system, particularly with my hormones. The problem with multi's is that it is hard to narrow down what is causing the problem. So I have gone through years of weeding out individual supplements, and finally come full circle to what my mom knew was good for me. :)

I like these vitamins because they are not overly-high dosed, which allows me more control. I find I do better on half the dose.

I also like the low calcium level because I have found that calcium throws my hormones off. Now I can take calcium/Vit D separately and see if different forms have better results. Iodine often causes acne so I like that it is excluded.

I also like the very small dose of Ginko Biloba. I was hesitant when I saw it in there because it normally makes me really shaky. But this is just a small enough amount to give you a little boost without bad side effects.

The last thing I will mention is the fact that they are chewable. Many vitamins don't dissolve completely before leaving the system. Chewing them gives them a head start. I feel them in my blood within 5 or 10 minutes.

The taste is *OK* but I would not order again. The tablets are at least 3/4" in diameter and the container itself is huge - takes up more room than I expected in my fridge. Chalky tasting. Ok for vegetarian chewable multivitamin given the price but if other alternatives were available at the same cost I'd try another one.
