Amazing idea book. Every page is a spectacular, interesting kitchen that is refreshingly original. What I love about this book is it includes working with what you already have. They picture these appliances that are those horrible 80's style BUT they somehow make it look good. It also includes kitchens of various sizes because let's face it if you have a 20x20 open floor plan kitchen it's easy to make it look good. They have everything in this book from clean white/stainless steel kitchens to crazy colored kitchens with 50's appliances. I stopped dog earring the pages after I realized I was doing it with every other page.

Many, many ideas in this book. Took a long time to get through but is a great style idea reference. Many of the pictures have been published before but for once that did not bother me because it put them in one spot that was easy to find rather than going through all of my old magazines.

Great value for the money,crammed full of good quality pictures and write ups.Obviously with many good ideas on how to arrange and style your kitchen .Very informative.

This book is like a visual file of pictures of country or cottage kitchen ideas and features. Most of us know what we love in design when we see it, before we can put it into words. This book allows us to look at hundreds of attractive kitchens and their unique elements: cabinetry, counters, floors, sinks, wall colors, appliances,storage including pantries, islands, seating and accessories. It shows you how to create the mood or feeling you want your kitchen to create such as light, warm, inviting, colorful, cozy etc.

This book will enable you to listen to your heart and begin to decide what's important to you in your kitchen design, and just as important, what you don't want. It will help you to your prioritize your resources--what you want to splurge on, where you can save. One great aspect of country and cottage design is that it doesn't get dated easily so this book should be useful for many years. Country and cottage style can be updated easily and often inexpensively, sometimes with just stylish accessories. If you love the warmth and texture of country kitchens, this is one of the best books I've seen on this style of kitchen design. I use it in a kitchen design class I team-teach with a kitchen design studio. My students love the book

This is exactly what you expect from this type of books.
Huge amount of pictures with brief description. Nothing
better shows the ideas like actual pictures. This book
is full of those. Truly, I would say this is so far the
best interior design idea book I have ever read. I wish
I could find more books like the one, full of pictures.

I'm a self-professed decorating book junkie, however, if they don't deliver the goods, back they go. This one delivers. It's thoughtfully organized, full of quality pictures, and not overly verbose. (A plus for those of us who really just want to look at the pictures!) I got about half way through the first pass, and had to jump up from my chair and completely redecorate my china hutch to look like it could be in the book. It didn't stop there, I spent the next hour and a half rearranging and decluttering all the surfaces in the entire kitchen. I bought the book to glean ideas for finishing my kitchen, but it even helped me to make do with what I have. It is not just full of $50,000 kitchen remodels, there's stuff in there for us regular people too. That's what I call "Inspirational".

Over the years I've owned a lot of books and passed many of them onto friends - not caring if they ever make their way back to me. Country Living's 500 Kitchen Ideas however, is NOT one of the ones I lend freely.

Owning this book is better than having 1,000 back issues of the magazine on hand when you're looking for inspiration on design and decor of your kitchen. Furthermore all styles of country are well displayed within the pages - from downright rustic to up-country sophistication. There are some very unique designs as well as some pre-made styles (made beautiful by enhancing accents, accessories and elements).

If you love country kitchens, even if you just love country decor, this book is money well spent. Get one and start re-designing your own kitchen from the ideas gleaned within the pages.

We are preparing for a home addition that will include a major kitchen renovation. I read the reviews on this book and ordered it hoping to utilize it in my planning phase but was greatly disappointed in it.

A majority of the ideas in this book remind me of a college student's kitchen or a starter home kitchen where the only resources available are family hand-me-downs combined with thrift store and flea market finds. If that's your phase in life (and there's certainly nothing wrong with that - most of us live through that phase at one point or another) you may really enjoy the book and may find it helpful. If you are wondering how to utilize your great-aunt's discarded and distressed furniture, or salvage old tool drawers from your uncle's garage to use as flatware drawers, or want to decorate in somewhat of a fun hodge-podge manner (which is different than chic eclectic style standards) you may want to purchase this book.

One of the things I disliked most about the book was its major style theme towards a cluttered look. Research shows that to have a cluttered kitchen (or any room for that matter) leads to additional stress. My family and I enjoy life more when there isn't so much clutter constantly "shouting" at us. I prefer cooking and entertaining friends and family in a more calm atmostphere than what is shown in most pictures in this book.

I'm donating this book to my local library. Hopefully, others will find more value in it than I did.

This is the best kitchen book ever!!!!! I received this as a gift and was thrilled with it. I sat down and read the book from cover to cover 2 or 3 times already and I have had it for only 3 weeks. If you like to look at different ways to decorate a kitchen or different ideas for remodeling or building, this is the book for you.

The name said it all. If you can't get some good Ideas from this book you must be blind!
