If you like pumpkins, squash, gourds, etc., this book has lovely photography and interesting ideas on different displays.

I would compare the high quality of style and photography to a level with the type of work you see from Martha Stewart.

Nice little book.

This book has some pretty good ideas - but not a lot of variety. I love Halloween and fall, and if I had looked at this book first in a bookstore, I would have opted to purchase something else. This isn't one of my books I will look at over and over. It might be nice to put on your coffee table in the fall. If you're absolutely crazy about pumpkins you may want to add it to your collection.

Beautiful book with beautiful pictures! I've read quite a few books on pumpkin carving and decorating, and this is an excellent book. The ideas are very fresh, sophisticated, and beautiful, especially for entertaining. All of the ideas are very creative and use a variety of pumpkins, squashes and gourds in new and exciting ways. Some of the ideas at the beginning are a bit more child-friendly, using a lot of interesting plants and add-ons that kids might not get to experience otherwise (cockscomb, waterlily pods, sumac pods, etc). The techniques are also a bit simpler for those.

Overall, though, all of the projects look extremely polished and are fresh takes on pumpkin decorating. I highly recommend this book to anyone who's looking for something more than regular pumpkin carving patterns that still looks fantastic.

This magazine provided ideas for carving pumpkins and provided recipes for interesting dishes. I will keep it with my Halloween decorations and refer to it for years to come.

Country Living's "Pumpkin Chic" has many inventive and clever ideas to use pumpkins and gourds in decorative and utilitarian ways. It isn't a jack-o-lantern pattern book but provides information on carving them as well. I would suggest for readers with some skills in carving and decorative arts. The falling leaves pumpkin is amazing and the grim reaper an original. I can recommend this book to anyone who wants to use pumpkins, gourds, and squash to decorate your home and garden in a crafty way and it is not just for Halloween!
