This second Hilary Quayle mystery is set at the annual Country Music Awards in Nashville . . . and begins with a baffling poisoning. Hilary and her assistant Gene have been asked to do the public relations for the Boulder Clan, one of America's oldest singing blue grass families. Gene, and later Hilary, go to Nashville for the annual awards at the Grand Ole Opry. But by the time Hilary arrives in Music City, U.S.A., Amanda Boulder, the lead singer, has been poisoned and the Clan is on the verge of disbanding. Before Hilary and Gene solve the crime, including finding out not only what poison was used, but also how it was administered, the murderer strikes again.
