The author Marty Stuart took many of these pictures so that gives the book a personal touch by the author. Most of the pictures are enlarged and maybe some are enlarged too much and start to break down, but they all are one-of-a-kind photos of country artists who have made the industry what it is. The cover photo is of Johnny Cash when he was very ill and near the end of his life and I hate to see him in that condition, but it represents the kind of artist he was--never quitting, always recording, always creating, always singing, even to the bitter end. And so in this sense the cover photo is a testament to Cash, his life, and his work. I am pleased with the book.

Anyone who likes traditional country music (or Marty Stuart) will enjoy this book. Lots of great photos of all the icons of the genre, as well as other historical items. Also includes a CD of Marty telling the story behind many of the photographs that personalizes it even more. Love it.

Marty's great insite behind the scenes is not only with musicians, but with an American era. The CD is a fun bonus.

Marty Stuart has captured country music as it used to be with his photos and memories. Brings back what country music was with his words, photos and music. Thank you, Marty.

I love country music and this book brings country music right into my home. I love Hatch prints and the book is loaded with them. Marty did an EXCELLENT job with this book.

I debated on the purchase of this book for a long time and finally decided to buy it. I'm glad I did. It's great to browse through and I see something different every time I do. I beleive it is bound to become a real collector's item in the coming years for all the Country Music lovers.

2:30am, a rainy February night, just home from a commute -- I've spent the past hour with Marty and his memories, his voice soaked in reverb and atmosphere, backed by mandolin and the occasional sound of a clacking train in the distance.. all caught on the CD which accompanies his book of exquisite photos. I bought the collection for myself for Christmas; paid full price; a steal at *twice* that if only for the disc. Thanks, man. (Remember the Kennedy Ctr show w/ Travis Tritt two years or so ago -- the guy who passed you the cuff links?) Serve God. Love All.

If you are a fan of original country music this is a must read book. Marty Stuart is really keeping the flame alive. The fact that the original "Master" is on the cover makes it more special.

I purchased this product as a gift for my father, who loved it. It is filled with the most incredible photographs not only of the people who made the music, but many of the artifacts associated with the artists.

We purchased this book as a gift for my fiancee Grandfather and he loves it! We had a lot of fun looking through some of the pictures together the night we gave it to him. His eyes just lit up because it was something he had wanted. Almost the entire book is photos which surprised us as we thought it would just be a handful. They are almost all full-page photos (or things like pictures of their original song lyrics, posters from their concert advertisements, etc) which are in wonderful full color and are on a very nice high quality photo paper! Comes with an audio CD as well. Well worth the amazon price for this!
