A good supplement, but not a primary disc, part 2,

Along with the "Historic Edition" CD, this is a good supplement for fans who have the core of Bob Wills hits on other discs and are now looking to broaden their collections. However, first-time buyers of music by this great musician would definitely do better with either "King of Lonestar Swing" or "The Essential Bob Wills", both of which capture the greatest pieces as well as some interesting secondary songs. Whatever you do, buy at least one disc that has "Dusty Skies" on it. This hauntingly beautiful western song is not generally found and is, in my opinion, the best piece ever recorded by Bob Wills and one of the best western songs ever (right up there with "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" and "Cool Water"). This piece is found on the "Historic Edition" and the much more generously filled "King of Lonestar Swing" (with 28 tracks!) In summary, this is a good supplemental disc for the aficionado, but don't miss out on the better known pieces found on the other discs mentioned.

16 forgotten Bob Wills gems from the 1950's and 60's,

Bob Wills / The Country Music Hall of Fame: The hall of fame CD's don't give you the biggest hits of an artist, they give you fine examples of the artist's work that have mainly gone unnoticed or are outside the `hit' years. This is what you have here with their treatment of Bob Will. These are great songs, however, this is not a greatest hits CD. As others on this page have said, this is more a supplement to a different collection of his hits. Four Stars
