This was my first Cormac novel and I was very impressed. I saw the movie first and then wanted to read the book, looking for more details to the stories. I was not let down. The movie is great, but the book is even better.

An important role in the great understanding of the odd role in which the surprising aspects of the odd characteristic sociopath with his strange aspects of philosophy kills in his pursuit of the contract he is following

I enjoyed every page. Saw the movie several years ago and enjoyed the book even more. The old sheriff's thoughts give the reader plenty to consider about life and what our modern world is becoming. Highly recommended!

No Country for Old Men is well written, but it's hollow and meaningless. Conrad, Dostoevsky and Dickens, to name just a few great writers, explored evil. But McCarthy doesn't explore evil; he simply relates it via a character who cannot understand it. This is, at best, clever.

I just read Herman Wouk's Winds of War and War and Rememberance. Unlike, McCarthy, Wouk dared write about important matters: war, love, loyalty, courage, cowardice, sacrifice ... But unlike McCarthy's, Wouk's style is often awkward.

It's a pity that "literature" and the popular novel have gone their separete ways. If only Wouk could write like McCarthy. If only McCarthy dared to take on the world, as Wouk did.

All things considered, I liked Wouk's novels better. But I'm just interested in McCarthy to read another one or two of his novels.

This book captured my attention faster than any book recently has. It's a short but amazing read. It must be experienced. The dialogue is remarkably done and the characters are brilliant and intriguing. Read it now!

This was an absolute steal. This hardback, well kept book was cheaper than all of the competitor soft backs. Perfect condition and prompt shipping. I would definitely recommend it and the seller to a friend.

Be warned. This book is not for the faint of heart. It is an interesting and suspenseful book with a moving plot line, but it is FULL of blood. You will not be able to go a chapter without violence.

I enjoyed this book thoroughly. It is definitely one of my favorites. It is raw and gritty but it is also honest and not romanticized in the least, but is what one would think would really happen.

I'm almost finished, unfortunately, but still outstanding. Got it all....modern day cowboy but w guns, drugs, and intelligence, a little cunning sprinkled in. Plot, characters all outstanding.

In _No Country for Old Men_ Cormac McCarthy manages to combine a taut gritty crime drama with a meditation on aging; somehow, he loses the punch of neither. I couldn't put this down. Brilliant.
