4.0 out of 5 stars a beautiful book on tea parties
This book starts with 4 pages of tea history and brewing instructions and then has 3 pages of "how to's" for tea parties. There is a theme tea for every month with menus and suggestions. There are approximately 4 recipes included with each month, so having another tea-time cookbook is advisable. Two of my favorites are "The Book of Afternoon Tea"...

I already new about most of the party ideas from tea parties I attended. I wanted something to make mine special. In generel, it is OK.

This book starts with 4 pages of tea history and brewing instructions and then has 3 pages of "how to's" for tea parties. There is a theme tea for every month with menus and suggestions. There are approximately 4 recipes included with each month, so having another tea-time cookbook is advisable. Two of my favorites are "The Book of Afternoon Tea" by Lesley Mackley and "Totally Teatime Cookbook" by Helene Siegel.

As far as "how to's" for tea parties, "Tea with Friends" by Elizabeth Knight has more information, but fewer recipes. Even so, this makes a beautiful gift book.

As a tea enthusiast,I zeroed in on this book at a book trade show. I could not find a better book for perfect tea parties. There is a bit of Old World British Charm but is not stiff and is adaptable to anyone's lifestyle. It is also aesthetically appealing. This makes a great gift!

If you've ever wanted to host a tea party but didn't know where to start, this is the perfect book to get you started. Great party menus, great recipes, and enough information about tea to teach the beginner. A must have for any tea- lover.

3.0 out of 5 stars full of nice ideas but no real substance, February 17, 2009
By
This review is from: Country Tea Parties (Hardcover)
This is a nice book providing a lot of ideas for creating your own tea party. there are no photos of the finished recipes which i would have liked. she doesn't provide all the recipes either stating you can find them in any old cookbook.

Nice little book with lots of good recipes. A friend had this book and I liked the idea of having some nice tea parties with my granddaughters. It has filled the bill.
