I just found out about Anna Wilson while watching Good Day NY this morning and she was awesome! Her voice is amazing! The song she sang with Matt Dusk was simply beautiful. The other songs that I've listened to are great as well. You won't be disappointed.

What a beautiful voice!!! I was hooked the first time I heard Anna sing. This cd is the perfect blend of country and jazz with other great artists joining her like some of my favorites, Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum. Each song is warm, soothing, and comforting. Perfect music to unwind to at the end of the day....very happy with this purchase, can't wait to hear more from her.

Prime Cuts: You're the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me (with Ray Price and Rascal Flatts), Cherokee Maiden (with Billy Dean), Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues (with Keith Urban)

To have the hottest artists and undisputable legends on the same album require some drawing power. Anna Wilson has the whole gamut of who's who singing with her on her sophomore CD "Countrypolitan Duets." Amongst the red carpet of stars, she has American idol alumnus (Matt Giraud), sizzling country music sensations (Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts and Lady Antebellum), jazz stalwarts (Rick Braun, Larry Carlton and Matt Dusk) and some sonic heroes of yore (Connie Smith, Kenny Rogers an Billy Dean). So, who on earth is Anna Wilson that she could get such a palate of stars? Though her name might not have been apparent conspicuous but to insiders of Music Row, Wilson has been quite a muscle as a songwriter. She has had cuts by Suzy Bogguss ("The Bus Ride"), Chuck Wicks ("All I Ever Wanted"), Lady Antebellum ("If I Knew Then"). Further, she is also married to song writing comrade Monty Powell (Kenny Rogers, Diamond Rio and Keith Urban). Given her sturdy biographical pedigree, two ironies abound. First, despite her song writing prowess, this is a covers album. Second, as the album title "Countrypolitan Duets" suggests, this is not a strictly country record. Though staples from the country genre such as Kris Kristoffersen's "For the Good Times" and Patsy Cline's "Walking After Midnight" have been selected, all the cuts here have a jazzy and big band makeover.

So, how does the CD fare? If you are looking for an album to unwind to with sweet romantic sonic escapades this is a sure win.

Knowing Anna Wilson's previous work I was extremely interested in the idea and execution behind this album. I shouldn't have been worried, the choice of material and the duet partners are a perfect match. My personal favorite is Walking After Midnight with Lady Antebellum and I would be hard pressed to name a worst track as each has it's own identity. Go and get it, especially if you are an Anna fan.
