Correction (published July 15, 2009): CityRegion: The Oregon Legislature this year approved, and Gov. Ted Kulongski is expected to sign, a bill that would allow counties of 350,000 or more people to impose vehicle registration fees withoug a vote of the citizenry, said David House, a spokesman for the state Driver and Motor Vehicle Services Division. Money collected would go to replacement of the Portland area Sellwood Bridge until July 2013; after that, the county could use the moey collected for its own roads, House said.
