A few months back I got engaged to a awsome Christian women. We wanted to find a bible study or devotional to do togeather. After looking at the different christian book stores there were not alot of choices. I find this devotional bible a good start for anyone who is newly merried and engaged. The devotionals take only about 20 min to do and they have great "get to know you" questions that you can ask each other so you can learn from each other. The bible is a great size to take to college, in the car and to church.

My wife and I recently started using the NIV Couples' Devotional Bible for our devotions together as a married couple. The devotions have been lots of fun for us to read and do together. This is the NIV (New International Version) Bible with devotions for each day. The devotions cover a broad range of topics relevant to married couples from sex to money to work to family life. These devotions include both classic and contemporary writings. And the Marriage Builder questions are great for helping couples learn from one another. Zondervan's NIV Couples' Devotional Bible is great for married and newly-engaged couples who wish to study God's Word together and grow closer to Him and to each other.

My husband and I have bought many couple devotional books most of which has been read half-through and then forgotten. But this one is a keeper. Not only is it the Bible but the topics covered are very biblical and relevant to us every day. I love that these topics are brought up with meaningful questions with answers that develop into meaningful conversation between the two of us.
I also love the date ideas every weekend!
This has really brought us closer together and [more importantly] closer to God.

About 7 years ago, My wife and I bought a "wedding gift basket" for $25 which included a NIV Couples' Devotional Bible, softcover, 2 wine glasses, and other items I don't remember, with the intention of giving items from it as wedding gifts. As I opened the Bible and read the Bible and devotions with my wife, we were stirred by what we read. We decided to keep the Bible. We have spent over 200 hours over the years reading the scriptures and devotionals, either together or individually. Just today, I was having a hard time getting over my impulse for procrastination and depression, and read the devotional titled "Conquering Disappointment" by Elizabeth Newenhuyse based on Ps 22:5 in which she wrote, in part:
"Disappointment can corrode a marriage like rust eats away at a car. Any number of things, a spouses' unemployment, a chronic illness, a serious betrayal -- these things can often kill marriages. This is where a spiritual perspective may not only help -- but be essential. Faith does not deny disappointment. Some things really are awful. ... Dr. Paul Brand may have the best answer to this conundrum... Paul responded to the question "Where is God when it hurts?" with this: "He is in you, the one hurting, not in it, the thing that hurts.
I have bought, received, and even giving many Christian couple devotional books and "How To" books, most of which have only been read half-through and then forgotten, but this one, as well as Night Life by Shirley and James and Shirley Dobson, "Two Into One: Relating in Christian Marriage" by Joyce Huggett, and "Sheet Music" by Dr. Kevin Leman are keepers. Not only is there a complete Bible in one of my favorite translations (the accurate and readable NIV or TNIV) but the topics covered by the devotionals are Biblical and relevant. We also love the meaningful questions following each devotional.
The NIV Couples' Devotional Bible has a subtitle on the cover "For Engaged and Newly Married Couples" but we found it relevant when we began reading it in our 23rd year of marriage, still love it after 30 years of marriage, and hope we live long enough to be still reading it (together) after 50 or 75 years of marriage. Please pray for us, for we are still far from perfect, either individually, as a couple, or as a family (we have 3 children all in their 20s). This book is a really good guide and study book for couple, I just get married, and I found the questions for the devotional page were very inspiring. I found a lot of comfort through reading bible and had a devotional page which regarded to the marriage, relationship issue. One of my favourite quotes from the book is "Your relationship is built on Christ." Sometimes, we tried to rely on our own strength to keep the promise, it was not the whole picture. The big picture is we need to trust God and let him guide us to be in the part. The devotional page also reminds me that it is God that holds all these things together. Couple have to trust God and through trusting, they will see their growth in Christ.

I first purchased this book as an ebook and loved it so much I wanted it hard copy. It gives you great talking points to help rediscover yourself and your spouse.

We bought this devotional Bible to read together as we prepared for our wedding. Although some of the devotions are more related to couples that have been married for a while we have found that most of the readings and devotions are closely related to our lives. The devotions have led to some great conversations and have increased our knowledge of the Bible. We've really enjoyed it!

Every couple should own this bible. There are great daily and weekly devotionals designed to strengthen a marriage and start conversations on the topics that we somethime aviod talking about, because we just can't think of a way to bring up the topic.

My husband really loves to use this book every morning as we are finishing our coffee.
