(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Courage for Caregivers: Readings and Reminders to Uplift and Uphold the Spirits of Those Who Care for Disabled Loved Ones (Paperback)
As author of this book, I not only read it, several times, I lived it ~! With some 50 million disabled persons in America, caregivers are the largest INVISIBLE "minority" around -- we take care of business, we look "normal" and able-bodied, yet we pull double-duty.

And the "grind" can wear down the emotions, the finances, the spirit and the sense of "self" as we bridge two worlds. After twenty years on the roller-coaster of my girl's challenge, and managing to survive at the bottom of the food chain, financially, I HAD to do something to turn my lemons into a paltable drink. This book was the result -- with much introspection and guidance, I realized there really WERE lessons learned and gifts I'd never have received, had circumstances been "normal". So, this work is my gift to other caregivers, and those who counsel them or work in hospice settings.

Much more than "chicken soup" for the spirit, this small book has meat on its bones -- it's "asado" (Mexican pork/chili soup) for the soul -- strong, rich, spicey and to the point -- a little goes a long way.
