I love the Course and highly recommend it to anybody searching for a little sanity in this world. All totally great and transforming stuff. This review relates not to the content of the Course but to the physical dimensions of this particular printing of the book. Warning: this edition is a new, smaller book with much smaller print than all previous versions of the blue book. The dimensions are 8 x 5 x 1.5 inches versus the usual 9.5 x 6.5 x 1.5. The pagination is the same as the most recent versions so the only difference is the smaller font. This might not seem like much of a difference - indeed, this might be preferential for somebody wanting a smaller book to carry about - but it results in pages with much smaller print making it even harder to read ;-)

If freedom from fear, guilt, sin, and death interests you, then you might want to give this book a chance - an open-minded read. A COURSE IN MIRACLES is about the miracle of healing through mind-change. Anybody can do it. Just read the Daily Workbook Lessons and let Jesus lead you Home. Yes, I said Jesus. Jesus dictated the Course. Helen was his scribe. Upon reading this book - if you are a believer in miracles - that's the first one you come to accept. Until you read the book, you won't know what I'm talking about. I you do begin reading what Jesus calls "a required Course," you will be amazed. It's the book you've been looking for all your life. On the other hand, if you need a powerful God who keeps score, judges, and zaps so-called evil-doers, you won't find Him here. The God of this Jesus is a loving, non-judgmental God who wants only one thing for you: Happiness.

I recently purchased 12 or so copies, of this Master-Works for the ladies of the
Utah State prison. They were all very excited and thankful for the books.

Anyone who is on a serious, life changing path, to a new and deeper understanding
of there purpose here on earth, and finds themselves open and willing to hear, learn,and understand new ideas & new understandings in the realm of Spiritual Psychology, This is the book for them. - Yes it is new, and very different from the old and fearful traditional teachings of the Dogmatic Christian Church.

Yes,the Jesus of ACIM is very, very different from the Jesus of the new Testament.
Just one exact example of the difference and new understanding of the two, can be
found in the Bible: Luke - Chapter 23 - Parg. 43: (today 'you' will be with me in
Paradise) - In ACIM, it explains how this account of the Cross, and the two Thieves
is totally WRONG~! - the Jesus of ACIM, came for "All" men & women, and the more
seemingly broken, the more he came for you. He did not come just for one, but ALL.

The Jesus of ACIM, places no blame, sin, fear or guilt, on our many Mistakes~!,
As he gently help us remember who we are, and how to grow in our Love and
Forgiveness towards our fellow Human Beings. Of course this new non-demanding,
non-blaming path to wholeness is going to be quite threating, to anyone who has
been raised to fear a judging god. Love can not be Dualistic~! - its either Full,
Unconditional, All-Encompassing, All-present ONENESS, LIGHT & LOVE or its not?

This new Understanding of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, will take you, where you have
only dreamed of going, 'Back' into the Love of a waiting Father who wants you back in
his arms, just as the Prodigal Sons, father was always waiting for him to return.

Essential pointers for those interested in true spiritual freedom:

Reviewer JP is absolutely correct: "Love cannot be dualistic". This Work is one of those essentials for anyone interested in true freedom. A good companion book: "I Am That", Talks with Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj (I Am That: Talks with Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj).

In all the great traditions, the point is made and underscored that ONLY love is real and all else is the illusion bound by the mental concepts of "time" and "ego - me". This book offers a practical approach to UNDOING the conceptual illusion so that your True Nature can shine without obstruction.

The potency of this course is not to be underestimated. Highly recommended for the sincere seeker of truth.

I first became acquainted with A Course in Miracles in the early '90's. I was very impressed with the book at the time; It seemed to be a genuine revelation. I became discouraged with the Course within a year's time though...as great as it seemed on paper, it didn't translate well into real life. This course seems to work best for those dealing with ennui, or those with comparatively trivial worries. But for the mother in the Congo who has witnessed bloody, senseless violence against her precious children, or the child laborer being used up for profit, or the man forced to become a soldier under a brutal regime, how much solace can such a book bring? Denying suffering might be plausible if you've never seen the genuine article, but for those that have, such denial is cold comfort. It dismisses the physical world as an illusion that is imprisoning us. Yet, the physical world is also full of beauty and delight as well as anguish. Also, it seems quite convenient that this channeled revelation has come through a very learned, accomplished psychiatrist. I would be far more convinced of its authenticity if say, an Iowa farm hand or middle school student had "scribed" it. Nevertheless, it is very cohesive and masterfully written. It seems to bring hope and comfort to many, and I am in no position to confront or dismiss the experiences of those who have been helped by it. It gives me pause though. If this book is not truly what it claims to be, then it isn't "true" enough for me to take solace in it and stake my emotional well-being on.

I have ordered this book not only for myself, but for family and friends as well. No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, A Course In Miracles is just the book to advance you to the next level! This book changed the way I view the world, myself and others. It's always a plus for me when I can order a item directly from Amazon(although I have had much success with vendors selling on Amazon)then I feel assured I will get the item in a timely manner, in excellent condition. I am very pleased with my purchase, I am sure I will be requesting this item again and again! Definitely get this book!!!

The original version of the Course is absolutely LOADED with male references such as Father, Son, Sonship, he, his, him, Son of God, men. Females are almost never mentioned nor referred to. As a female, I find this exclusive language to be very irritating and have more than once given up in disgust. Also the writing can be extremely OBTUSE, and is in need of a good editor.

I even thought I would make myself write a gender-neutral version in desperation, since I really believe in the message of the ACIM thought system. But thank heavens someone already did it! Called Miracles Unplugged , the editor, Reverend Pamela Schauer taught ACIM courses for 15 years.
The inclusive version is not burdened by religiously and (for some) emotionally loaded words like:

atonement, creator, Christ, crucify, devil, evil, God, heaven, hell, Holy Spirit, idols, imprisoned, minister, redemption, resurrection, revelation, salvation, saved, savior, second coming, sins, Sonship.

In her version the above words have been removed and the following have been substituted:

our sacred mind, forgiveness, companion, expression, divine essence, higher identity or true identity, punish, lower consciousness, guilt, source, them, you, we, wholeness and knowledge, lower consciousness, spiritual interpreter, illusions, limited, teacher, light or truth, enlightenment, direct communication, freedom, freed, teacher, higher consciousness, errors, ultimate oneness.

These substitutions make the beautiful ACIM thought system more accessible for those who are not Christian and for those who are, for what ever reason, alienated from Christianity. I believe the Unplugged version could be used by folks of various religious persuasions without discomfort or alienation. Certain biblical references and passages claiming to be Christ speaking have been deleted or changed to make these messages less exclusive while retaining the information needed to understand the loving and healing thought system.


Some of the members in our ACIM group, some of them men, prefer to use the Unplugged version. However, some others miss the use of the words Holy Spirit, and some of the explanations of biblical passages and references to Christ and use either the Original Edition or this Foundation for Inner Peace 3rd edition.

I just wanted to give folks a heads up that there is another option out there. It is a great and healing thought system, which ever version you study from!

Bought the book for a study group I have joined. Remarkable information. Ironic to be reviewing this book because it speaks to releasing judgement. Only wish the print was larger- or my eyes were better. But then that's another judgement.

I could not more highly recommend this book. It is a must for the serious. Perfectly worded, leaving no ego-stone unturned. If you want to "get it", get it! You'll understand once you start reading...if you are willing.

A must read for all.

Spent my life looking for what is in this book. No one I know seems to understand that Jesus came to help us become as he was, to overcome the world and to get out of egoism and the limitations. The churches preach "I'm not worthy, O'Lord" and that's a crock of horse pucky that's been marinating for over 2000 years in a cast iron skillet that has been kept warm. Yuck! The Course in Miracles IS the answer, in my opinion, and for me, over and above, before and after, all else. The information recorded rings true in every aspect if you are, truly, believing you want to find God. The lessons can be difficult and I've found myself "wandering" in the midst. Conviction, conviction, conviction and commitment. The Course requires we take action to walk the path to God, we ARE worthy as Children of God and brothers of Christ, and it is our right. We simply need to change some things.

I will order this book for my a friends' birthday and would love to have about 10 of them lying around to give away. I believe this book should replace the Bible, completely and totally.

I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who finds religion too limitating, church too controlling and other "religions" too lacking. The Course in Miracles puts them all together into the one truth, WHEN APPLIED CORRECTLY. I mean, if you cut your finger, would you put a band-aid on your knee? NO, it has to be applied correctly to work. ;O)
