About the Author

John Lee, a charming mixture of college professor and therapist, came to national prominence over a decade ago with The Flying Boy: Healing the Wounded Man, which sold more than a quarter million copies. He has since written eight other books on anger, fathers and sons, mothers and sons, and other relationships, the most recent being Facing the Fire: Experiencing and Expressing Anger Appropriately and Growing Yourself Back Up: Understanding Emotional Regression.

In the tradition of Mark Twain and Will Rogers, Lee has earned a reputation as one of America’s leading humorists and storytellers.

Best-selling author John Lee has been featured on Oprah, 20/20, Barbara Walter’s The View, CNN, PBS, and NPR. He has been interviewed by Newsweek, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and dozens of other national magazines and radio talk shows.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book!, February 8, 2009
This review is from: Courting a Woman's Soul (Paperback)
This is a brilliant little book that chronicles how the flying boy finally lands. And like other significant transitions in life this landing is not without some turbulence. John describes the process in his own unique, deeply honest and eloquent fashion. John teaches so effectively not by lecturing us about us but by sharing experientially his own process (this is not narcissism). He combines his experience with penetrating insight, compassionate understanding, wit and humor. He delivers highly sophisticated concepts in a casual and personal package. This book is the culmination of many years of hard inner work the result of which is what most people will never experience: a deeply satisfying and authentic relationship that promotes ongoing personal growth and encourages one to become fully present and fully human with the partner they love. I highly recommend this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a shame!!, April 18, 2006
This review is from: Courting a Woman's Soul (Paperback)
I have been a fan and follower of John Lee since 1992. This book is such a disappointment. I simply cannot believe the narcissistic material contained in this book It flies in the face of everything Lee teaches others. Shame on you John Lee.
