Courtroom Survival,
By A Customer
This review is from: Courtroom Survival (Paperback)
This is a must read for anyone in Law Enforcement. For every Officer that ever sat outside the courtroom sweating and dreading his/her turn on the stand, this book gives new hope. Devaillis Rutledge puts the spotlight on a seldom talked about subject in our profession, our own FEAR. Rutledge then calms those fears by letting us know that we are not alone and telling us how to deal with the most common courtroom problems and defense attorney ploys. Once you read this book, you will understand why defense attorney's ask the questions they do, and you will gain a confidence that makes you a more valuable witness. You will learn how to recognize questions and language that are designed to trip you up and you will know how to avoid falling into the traps set by some of those questions and language. As Law Enforcement Professionals, we spend countless hours training ourselves for every situation that we may encounter, except for the witness stand. "Courtroom Survival" is the training we need. The courtroom is the home field of the defense attorney. Read "Courtroom survival" and Learn how to overcome the home field advantage.

This review is from: Courtroom Survival (Paperback)
I have been a Law enforcement Officer for the better part of thirteen years, and much of what is in this book I have learned from trial and error (no pun intended). Still there is plenty of useful information for veteran officers, and is a must read for less experienced officers who have yet to be raked over the coals in a courtroom. Devallis Rutledge writes the book as if he is talking with you one on one, and makes the book enjoyable to read. I recommend it highly.

As a Police Officer for over 17 years, I gotta tell you that this is the absolute best book I ever bought for the job. It's as critical as "Street Survival." This book will make you as sharp on the stand as you are on the street. Every new cop needs to own a copy. Defense lawyers will tremble at the sound of your name!
