Mark Shelton and the boys from Wichita turned in another masterpiece here-epic metal mixed with some thrash/doom. They even cover that old Bloodrock song "DOA" that was bandied about on classic rock radio for quite a bit. Yes, the Sharks version of this morbid song is better than the original, even if does seem to be a strange choice for the only cover song they ever recorded. Of course, 'Road were all about strangeness, so maybe this was a calculated move, the keyboards and chunky doom riffs fit right in the context of the album. The title track on this album is a monster of epic metal-lyrics about Vikings, Cthulu, Odin, and a big fight against the Old Ones in a place of fire, crunchy guitarz, snappy drums and some great vox. "(Vlad) The Impaler" and "From Beyond" are awesome tracks too. Oh, and "From Beyond" has a kick ass Shark guitar solo. Essential for any 'Road fan, or any fan of epic metal.
