The final book in the first Amber series, December 9, 2011
This review is from: The Courts of Chaos (Paperback)
This book is where everything comes together. Zelazny draw to a finish his first Amber series, perhaps one of the greatest Fantasy series ever. Here, Crowin performs two of the toughest things he had ever done, does something that finally makes him equal to his father and saves the day, while paying a heavy price.
I've read this book from start to finish in one go, barely stopping to go to the toilets or get something to eat. I could only think that the previous books in the series were there only to prepare the ground for this book, the best in the series, maybe even the best ever.
Corwin deals with his father and the feelings he has towards him, finally becoming free, more or less. This book has great action scenes, very deep introspective scenes and a good old fashioned quest, all zone in Zelazny's unique style.
This is a great book and a must read for anyone who feels something for fantasy. Just remember there are four books before it.
