The Way To A Woman's Heart…

Isabella McCree wanted to be loved. So she traded her lonely Eastern existence for life in a mountain cabin with her rugged mail-order husband and his brood. But could she ever put her haunting secrets behind her and become a "real" wife?

Between raising four children and training wild stallions, Matt Prescott had no idea how to court a woman again. Especially not a shy beauty like Isabella. Yet when he looked into her blue-green eyes he saw strength—as well as a pain that mirrored his own—and knew he'd somehow find the way to her heart.

4.0 out of 5 stars A thoroughly enjoyable romance featuring an uncommon heroine, March 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Courtship of Izzy McCree (Harlequin Historical, 425) (Paperback)
Izzy McCree, an orphan with a crippled foot, has taken a chance to change her life by answering a rancher's request for a mail order bride. Too bad for Izzy, it is the rancher's oldest child who has made the request without his father's knowledge. With the help of the rancher and his three children, Izzy, who feels flawed and has definitely grown up on the wrong side of the tracks, finds her self respect. The light humor and slight sesuality of the story add to the book's charm.

5.0 out of 5 stars A REALLY GREAT STORY - WORTHY OF BEING A HISTORICAL, September 20, 2002

This review is from: The Courtship of Izzy McCree (Harlequin Historical, 425) (Paperback)
For a man who didn't know how to win a woman's heart, Matt Prescott made a good job of it.

Aaron Prescott, nearly 15, wanted a wife for his father and a mother for his brothers and sister. He wanted his father to be happy again.

Benjamin and Clement were special brothers and Del, the littlist, a cute sister. Clement did the trapping for pelts and Benjamin was great at collecting honey and Del kept chickens and gathered the eggs. Everyone contributed to the welfare of the family.

Matt and Aaron tracked down and broke to saddle, wild mustangs for the army. Isabella couldn't believe her luck in being able to join this special family.

But as always, danger does exist, and Matt must resuce Isabella from Cutler, a horror from her past. But love has blossomed for Matt and Isabella in a most beautiful fashion.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -- don't miss this great story

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story with defined characters, November 22, 2010
This review is from: The Courtship of Izzy McCree (Harlequin Historical, 425) (Paperback)
This is more than your typical western romance and if I had to find fault with it I'd say the last minute arrival of a previous wife is ill timed. We could have learned about her much earlier rather than have her oh so dramatically arrive at the last minute. In fact she never had to arrive at all as it would have been enough that someone in town told Isabelle about her enabling her to find out the truth about the children.
