Book Description

October 1, 1999 Anne Mckinney Career Series
Although a resume is important, the cover letter is the first impression. This book is a compilation of great cover letters that helped real people get in the door for job interviews against stiff competition. Included are letters that show how to approach employers when you're moving to a new area, how to write a cover when you're changing fields or industries, and how to arouse the employer's interest to dial your number first from a stack of other resumes. This book is part of the Anne McKinney Career Series by PREP Publishing.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"A cover letter is the first impression in a job hunt. If you want to know how to make sure your cover letter blows doors open in your job hunt, get this book. The fact that these cover letters are REAL and were used by real job hunters in real job hunts is pretty obvious. Wish I'd had this book three job hunts ago!" -- Patrick Ricolta, medical field

"I already realized the importance of a great cover letter when I found this book, but I wasn't sure how to write a great cover letter. This book shows how to write a cover letter in nearly every type of job hunt. This book should be called 'Everything you ever wanted to know about cover letters but were too dumb to ask.' It is a priceless reference tool." -- Don Champion, Sales Professional

"When my husband accepted another position 3,000 miles away, I wanted to make sure that my resume would be taken as seriously as the residents of local residents. I picked up this book by accident but quickly realized its value. There are cover letters written for many different career situations. In my case, I saw how important it is to tell a potential why you're relocating. And I enjoyed seeing how to write letters applying for multiple job openings in the same company." -- Anne Pilcher, Property Manager
