2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I was hoping for
I am a BzzAgent and recently had the opportunity to try the NatureLuxe Silk Foundation and NatureLuxe Gloss Balm for free as part of the BzzCampaign.

I was really pleased with the foundation and posted so here on Amazon if you search NatureLuxe Silk Foundation Flax. I don't have the same rave reviews for the NatureLuxe Gloss Balm. First off, I don't think...

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this lip product, March 8, 2011
I purchased this item in Thistle and Tulip and absolutely love this product and the color.

This lip color is categorized as a gloss balm and that is exactly how it feels.

It applies like a balm but has a nice texture when applied and slight shimmer/sheen to it. The color is not heavy at all (it is more of a tint) and seems to last about as long as other tinted balms if you are not eating or drinking. It is definitely lighter than a regular lipstick and isn't waxy like some lipsticks can be. It also isn't greasy or sticky like a gloss can be.

The scent is very nice and there is virtually no taste to this product which is a plus. Even better it has an SPF15 (which also means there is an expiration date) which makes it perfect for daily wear.

I also don't find it drying like some balms (tinted or not) can sometimes become after application.

This winter has been tough on my skin and lips and this product really seems to help protect my lips. Since starting to use it in place of my usual lipstick and gloss I noticed my lips were not as chapped.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I was hoping for, May 29, 2011

I am a BzzAgent and recently had the opportunity to try the NatureLuxe Silk Foundation and NatureLuxe Gloss Balm for free as part of the BzzCampaign.

I was really pleased with the foundation and posted so here on Amazon if you search NatureLuxe Silk Foundation Flax. I don't have the same rave reviews for the NatureLuxe Gloss Balm. First off, I don't think Sandstone 265 is the right shade for me. It's too pink and on my lips it's a weird pink, not a pretty one. Some of my ColorMatches that I'd rather try and are much more the norm for my makeup palette include Pinot 245 and Clove 280. But I'm going to have to see if they have the same effects as the Sandstone; apparently some of the shades are much glittery than others.

When I think of lip balm, I think of ChapStick - waxy and moisturizing for chapped or dry lips. When I think of lip gloss, I think of a shiny, sometimes glittery finish. The only thing the Gloss Balm got out of those things is the glitter part. It was not the "sheer color with a hint of shine" promised. Unfortunately, it was the glitter that kept the product from being "decadent" (again, COVERGIRL's description) thick, and moisturizing and it was much bolder than the shimmery glossiness I prefer. I kinda felt like a tween trying their first lipstick, it was that infused with glitter! Worse still, I could feel every piece of glitter and it felt coarse.

I hate to waste things though, so I decided to resort to the old practice of using lipstick as blush. Now, if COVERGIRL would get behind marketing the NatureLuxe Gloss Balm as a cream blush, I'd be cheering them on! It worked beautifully and really brightened up my face. The color was much more flattering on my cheeks than my lips and the glitter was a positive this time as it provided a dewy look.

4.0 out of 5 stars Could be glossier, July 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this product hoping that I could wear this for some color and have a glossy lookm however it is very matte looking. I like how it looks when you first put it on but after about 5 minutes it seems any shine is gone. Overall a ok product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lip balm with a touch of color, May 30, 2011
I received this to try for free as a bzzagent in the hibiscus shade. I love that it is a lip balm with a tint of color and has spf15- perfect for spending time outside! I would not call this a lip gloss though so gave it 4 stars. I do prefer this over a lipstick or gloss as it moisturizes my lips - I can use one product instead of using both lipstick and a lip balm.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent on my Desert-Dry Lips, May 25, 2011
As a member of BzzAgent, I recently received a free full-size tube of Cover Girl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Cinnamon 275. Although my skin is very oily, I have the world's driest lips. This gloss balm feels wonderful on my lips. It's very moisturizing and soothing. I imagine that's because it is fortified with mango and shea butter. It gives my lips just a hint of color and a very light shine. I would call it more of a balm than a gloss. Definitely not a matte finish, however. I wear it when I go out during the day, around the house and as a lip moisturizer when I go to bed at night. While the color isn't long lasting, it does keep my lips moist for hours. Living in Florida, the SPF 15 is a must-have inclusion.

3.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful gloss, May 25, 2011
As a Bzzagent I was send a free sample of the Pinot Natureluxe gloss balm. Overall I would have to say it is not a bad gloss. I always have a hard time finding a gloss that doesn't match my lip tone. I was a little disappointed because it was a great color, but it blended in too much like most colored glosses. Overall it's a fantastic gloss. Helps my lips retain there moisture and keeps them silky smooth. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good gloss, but not necessarily deep color.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cover Girl Luxe makes lips feel nice!, May 16, 2011

I have gotten to try Cover Girl Luxe as part of being a Bzzagent. I normally don't wear lipstick but have enjoyed this gloss balm product. I like the shades of color available and look nice and not phony on my lips. The gloss covers nicely and keeps my lips moist. The only thing I do not like is how easily it comes off when I take a drink. Overall I enjoy this and will keep using it!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Balm, May 16, 2011
I bought this because I wanted a lip balm with SPF and really like this product. I bought it in Peony, which looks pretty red in the tube, but it's not so strong on application; rather it's like a tinted balm with a bit of a glossier look. It builds in intensity, too, so if I want a hint of color, just a swipe or two will do, but if I want more drama, I can just keep adding it on.

I received a sample of this product as a Bzzz Agent. I have to admit, I wanted to return it to the store for a different shade. The red just looked too red. My 9 year old even looked at it and said, "That color doesn't look right." But I ended up trying it and was very pleased. The product highlighted my own lip color rathre than transforming my lips into something garish. It flides on a like a chapstick/lip balm but enhances the tone and color of your lips rather than something too dramatic--just perfect for summer. I liked the taste too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not disappointed, May 11, 2011

I love lip balm... I have some at my desk at work, desk at home, restrooms, next to my bed, in my purse, in a box in the familyroom, pretty much everywhere I often find myself. That being said, I am not sure why I never tried a tinted lip balm. I usually end up putting lip balm on and then wait a while and apply lipstick if I feel like some additional color.

Like another reviewer, I received this lip balm as a BzzAgent and was not a fan of the color (I also found it a bit pinkish). That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by the product itself. The color goes on well and you get a creamy coating on your lips. I still need to reserve a whole day to just wearing this balm to see how it holds up, but initial thoughts are:
- decent tinting
- creamy coating
- spf is always a plus
- color selection has a variety

As for duration of wear, I can't comment yet.
