EXCELLENT,
By cd-heaven (ROCK CITY) - See all my reviews

These boys are having their best year ever! After putting out Necroshine(5 stars, best metal album of the year,1999) earlier this year, the band releases a 12 pack of cover tunes. With my faith restored in this band after Necroshine, Overkill rip n' tear into all these songs. Personal favorites being Purple's Space Truckin', Motorhead's Overkill, Kiss' Deuce, Manowar's Death Tone, and the Ramones I'm Against It. But all the songs are good, and this band is ready and headed for a re-birth to the top of the metal scene.

OVERKILL DELIVERS,
By BUDDY HICKS (Broussard, LA USA) - See all my reviews

If you've ever wondered where Overkill comes from musically, this is the CD for you. Blitz and the boys go all the way back to their roots and pay tribute to some of Metal's founding fathers. Most notable covers include the blistering "Overkill" by Motorhead, the pounding "Deuce" by Kiss, "Tyrant" by Judas Priest, and an impressive version of Black Sabbath's time shifting "Cornucopia". Sometimes cover CD's can be a real let down, but this one is just plain fun to listen to. (check out my review of Helloween's new cover CD "Metal Jukebox")

Metalheads...Never fear, Overkill is here to save the day!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Coverkill (Audio CD)
Once again, the best metal band in the land has not failed die-hard metalheads...Coverkill by Overkill once again demonstrates that Overkill is a metal band fueled with desire, while still possessing a wealth of talent...Blitz and the boys are simply killer on this effort and it MUST join any true metalheads collection...Every song is heavy, and it's obvious that the band made the choices for this CD very carefully...In my opinion, the best song is a cover of KISS' "Deuce"...I've always dreamed of a metallized version of this song, and leave it to Overkill to make my dreams come true...Other highlights are "Space Truckin" by Deep Purple and Hymn 43 by Jethro Tull...I've always liked Tull, but imagine that flute being replaced by a crunching guitar....It's all good! Once again the band is tight, and the production is great and Blitz is as strong as ever....How does stack up with Garage, Inc you ask? It doesn't...This is the best metal CD of 1999!

This is the only album of recent times that has revived my faith in the existence of Metal. Apart from their other works this proves that Overkill Kicks ass

A Good Dose For Your Overkill Craving,

Blitz, DD, and company rip it up on this version of Overkill's Garage Days Revisted. But this actually rips unlike other bands' versions of Garage Days.

One of the few...,

Yes, Overkill is one of the few thrash giants that have survived the forever-changing metal scene without selling out (like many others... you know their names...).
Fine album demonstrating Overkill's affection for the Sabbath, leading with three tunes: Changes, Never Say Die (in an excellent version) and an amazing Cornucopia. The rest is well played in Overkill style respecting the essence of the originals. Can't miss Motörhead's "Overkill", what else can be said? Excellent album full of the regular energy and passion that Overkill always has stood out for.

I have been a overkill fan for many, many, yrs. now. And I gotta tell ya, outta all there albums this would be the one I like the least. Don't get me wrong I like it its worth the $ it has some good song's. But it wasn't at wreck neck speed! But,if I had to buy it again I would.

This review is from: Coverkill (Audio CD)
This is the first overkill album i have heard in at least 6 years and so i was a bit worried to whether or not i would like it, and i gotta admit i wasnt too sure i'd made a good choice upon the first listen, but well after at least 25 plays of it now i absolutely love it and i sure as hell am going to order more overkill albums very soon.
