It is actually remarkable how little Kevin Hogan seems to have learned since writing "The Psychology of Persuasion" While a few useful tidbits can be found in this book, those could be fit into a small pamphlet. This book is full of information that he has already published and useless fluff. I can only guess he believed he needed a lot of words to justify the ridiculous price. A major disappointment.

Pick up Bandler and Grinder's stuff, and practice it daily, NLP will serve you much better than this since about 97% of this book is based on NLP. A few gems in the fluff though but wayyyy overpriced ...

Nothing new. Kevin Hogan seems to repeat over and over again the same old material. It's basic NLP: how to establish rapport, meta programs, ...

It's frustrating to notice that this guy like many others (The chicken soup's guy, etc) seems to essentially want to make money. Kevin Hogan is the kind of guy who writes, "you have to be genuine", "honest", ..., with people and yet, at the same time, they're only money oriented and they don't care about their readers.

Don't be fooled by the cover. There is no great "secret" within this book.

Forget about Kevin Hogan, he's just good at marketing his stuff.

If you want to read a very good book on NLP and persuasion, read this one:

Unlimited Selling Power: How to Master Hypnotic Selling Skills by Donald Moine.

If your job is to persuade others the chances are that the influential messages you are delivering are not effective to say the least. The quality of your ability to tell stories and ask the right questions will help not only determine your income but change your life. Maybe your income does not depend on your communication skills but you would like to be able to persuade the masses and you need a blueprint to do so. This book will help you out.

Covert hypnosis is sort of a cross between being psychic and having the ability to infiltrate minds but with a skeleton key of knowing what to say at the right time. To have and hold the skills of a master persuader is not enough any more you must go one step further into the future, telling the story and then having the person conform to your thought belief or even way of thinking. This is not an easy task and when created and implemented wrong negative results occur. Fortunately you are in luck this in depth manual on covert hypnosis explains more than you could ever imagine about ways to correctly influence others in subtle ways. Interestingly enough once learned this skill is easy to implement.

First the good things about this manual:
It is easy to read and easy to follow
It has real substance and is not regurgitated information
There are plenty of examples to understand that are not just theory

Now the slight challenge:
The covert hypnosis ability takes a little time to implement because you will have to learn how to craft the message or story but once mastered your influence skills will go through the roof.

The ability to covertly hypnotize others is a task that takes some time but for your efforts you will have the ability to use powers that most people only dream of, in a sense you would be an elite influencer with almost mystical skills, techniques and abilities. With the ability to use covert hypnosis correctly your persuasive skills become almost illegal.
