Featuring their new guitarist, the legendary Scott Mitchel Putuskey (ex-manson guitarist for 'Portrait of an American Family', 'Smells Like Children) Jack Off Jill comes back after releasing thier debut CD to put out an EP, filled with metal and techno influences that make your head spin. Sorry but i dont like techo remixes too much so i discounted points becuase of that. 'American Made' is an awesome remix, and so is the first remix of 'my Cat.' For the $6 i spent on this CD, it was well worth it for some of the good points of the CD, and just to complete my collection of Jack Off Jill CDs.

Remixed Riot Grrrrrrrrl,

Jack Off Jill is the last band i would have thought of to put out a remix ep. When i first heard about it i was excited to hear what they could have done to the *amazing* original songs. Well with the exception of the "My Cat Meow Mix" the remixes are wonderful and totally compliment the originals instead of destroying them. People need to remember though these are just remixes and not a new direction for the band! Now i'm just waiting for the new cd "Clear Hearts Grey Flowers" hopefully it will be every bit as amazing as their other releases!

decidedly an interesting twist on their songs, but a fun one! at moments this cd almost seems danceable, not something you'd expect at all from jack off jill, but in tandem with such folks as switchblade symphony and lords of acid, it's almost expected. the remixing varies in level and extremity, which is actually what makes this cd so wonderful, you aren't immersed in just another take on the whole ordeal, but a number of different takes, pushing a variety into the techno driven world of remixing. if there is only one complant to make about this cd, i'd say it's the structure of the songs, putting two secret tracks onto it ended up being decidedly annoying, especially since my player doesnt have a fastforward button! but, it's worth the waiting in silence for the final track, a gorgeously remixed cut of Covetous Creatures that you want to put on repeat.

I like Jack Off Jill so I was pretty much assured I would find enjoyment in their remix album- I do enjoy it! But there should have been more songs remixed and remixing the songs ONLY ONCE. I love the first "My Cat" remix!

I acquired this CD after a friend bought and hated it ('errgh its all BEEPY'). Owning SD&S and CHGF I was really looking forward to hearing this JOJ release, especially as it featured Switchblade Symphony and Lords of Acid (2 of my favourite band-types). I certainly wasnt dissapointed! American Made (Tweaker) sticks to the guitar based feel of the original, but with the added bonus of super-gritty distortion. A really good remix, but what else would you expect from the producer of CHGF and Rasputina!. The only track i dont like on this CD is number 2, My Cat (Meow Mix), far too long and boring. The best has to be Girlscout(Sunday Mix) which totally reinterpretes the original (which is probably my favourite JOJ song) into a cold and spooky dark-dance piece. I also adore the Lords of Acid remix which throbs with techno beats and echoing vocals. The final hidden track (a remix of covetous creature) is definately worth a mention as well. It is pounding and slow..sort-of like having your head crushed in a vice...in a very good way. Much better than the original. In conclusion, if you like a bit of darkwave with your gRRl-MeTAl..get this album...worth suffering the mediocrity for the amazing bits. On the other hand, if the mere thought of dancing without suffering chronic neck injury fills you with dread, it might not be such a good idea.

pretty good.but too much techno remixes make me sick!but i bought the cd knowing it would be remixed so its not like i didnt know..but i wanted to try it out.plus i love JOJ so i need the collection to begin!...well its pretty good..some songs shouldn't of been remixed..because it made them sound to clubby and poppy...American Made is a good remix,(tweaker)....and My Cat Meow Mix is really good!but the ending is really long...but its actually a little better then the original..Girlscout should of been either left out of this album as far as a remix or remixed by someone else..Cumdumpter is alright, original version is 100% better tho,My Cat auto. speed mix is not good..just too mixed up.Poor Impulse Control is alright but the original has more emotion and excitement...:) buy this cd if your a big JOJ fan,if you already have JOJ-SDAS then buy this because its interesting..but if its your first JOJ cd..go for Sexless Demons and Scars (SDAS).

this is a remix album from sexless demons and scars...though they should have put a new song on here just to make it more interesting....the best song is the final final bonus track and girlscout....its cool that they took my cat (a not very good song in the first place) and remixed a few times and its really good now ... and american made is a bad bad song i think and now its really listenable...on this ep joj sounds industrial almost but that a really good thing as joj proove

As a DJ I found the band to be very unquie and a fresh sound you don't often hear about much. A personal recomandation on mine would be The Track my cat. The have though an influence of shall wee say "Lords Of Acid." Ciao.

My friend told me about JOJ and I listened and seriously loved. The first stuff i heard was off of CHGF. So I went to my local CD shop and the only JOJ album they had was Covetous Creature. It was [inexpensive] so I bought it, even though everyone told me not to cause it was all remixed and "clubby". Well to make a long story short, I bought it and I did like it. SOme of the stuff was a little too beatty for me but after I got SDAS, I liked some of the remixes better. Like the ones for Poor Impulse Control and Girlscout were my favorites and I still don't know which ones I like better. But for most people this isn't a good starting JOJ CD, but if it is at the store BUY IT! Cause it [is not bad] like some remix CD's.

A real album, not made by sold-out mechanical animals,

A very good album with remixes that compliment the original songs and don't destroy them like other bands have done. It is more beautiful and disturbing than any album Manson has put out. The guitar ranks up there with Portrait of an American Family, and gives the music the dirty feel of the band. The voices are spiritually disturbing yet beautiful.
