A delightful sure fire storytime winner,
By
This review is from: The Cow Loves Cookies (Hardcover)
The Cow Loves Cookies has it all. It's a great rhyme; it's sing-song nature just begs to be read aloud, it has colorful illustrations with expressive farm animals, a repeating refrain that will pull in an audience, and a tag line at the end that will be sure to get the laughs. This is a great take on the traditional farm story. Instead of cow goes moo, etc.., we get horses eat hay, pigs eat slop, geese eat corn, chicken eat chicken feed, and dogs get treats. So why does The Cow Love Cookies? Well, the answer is one that just about every kid will appreciate. A big recommend for toddlers and preschoolers. It's the perfect length so even the youngest story timers won't get bored. This one belongs in every story time collection.

I enjoyed this book so much, I bought one for each of our grown children to read with their children. I read "The Cow Loves Cookies" to my friends at the nursing home and special things happened there, too. People "helped" read the story with me, some laughed, some pointed bony aging fingers toward the lively farm animals. One time saliva dripped out of a friend's mouth. Her smile was priceless. Another non-verbal friend asked me to come back and read it again.
How fun to watch facial expressions change from curiosity to understanding! I especially enjoyed keeping the secret answer to why the cow loves cookies until the end.

Your preschoolers next favorite book!,
This review is from: The Cow Loves Cookies (Hardcover)
You might get a little craving for cookies and milk after reading this book. It's full of short and simple text with big, bright and colorful illustrations. But what I loved most about this book was the reason why the cow loves cookies. The book describes what happens on a typical farm day. The horse eats hay, the chickens eat chicken feed, the geese eat sweet corn, the hogs eat slop, the dogs eat dog treats but, "the cow would rather eat things sweet." The farmer and cow eat lunch with each other everyday. Together that have worked out a plan to share their food. One brings the cookies while the other provides the milk.

My 2 year old loves farm animals and cookies so this book is perfect. He picks it out to read everyday! It's a cute story and we love the pictures. He loves how it repeats and knows when to say "cookies" when it comes along in the story. I'm so glad I bought this book.

The Cow Loves Cookies!,
This review is from: The Cow Loves Cookies (Hardcover)
We checked this book out from the library and we now read it every night before my 3 year old boy goes to bed. I read a review that someone else submitted saying it was a little redundant, I like that it is because my son can "read" along. He knows just when to say "The cow loves cookies!" It's such a fun book and makes us smile and giggle every time we read it.

After enjoying The Bear Snores On with my 2 year old son, we bought The Cow Loves Cookies for him for Christmas (he's now 28 months). The Cow Loves Cookies is now a frequent request as part of our bedtime book ritual. The rhythm and rhymes are really fun and it's just a cute story with terrific illustrations. I enjoy it even more than the Bear Snores On, and it appears my son does as well!

Such a cute book. My grandkids love it and can "read" along after it was read to them a few times. They pick this book to read each time we are reading stories.

This is the cutest story! My son loves it and was engrossed from start to finish. I love that it is a large size book because that helped him to be able to point to things even I didn't see in the pictures and just like bigger books. This story is sure a winner!
