I have been forced to read this book at least 2x daily to my 14m old son for the last 3m. He shows no sign of getting tired of it. He points out all the catcti, the stars & Hank the hors everytime. He rummages around in his book box to find this book, even when I've gotten tired of it & tried to hide it from him. I gave that up-the huge grin he gets when he sees the striped cover makes up for any tedium I feel. It is a wonderful book (we've completely worn out one copy & we are now on the second)

I am a Mom of 5 girls, and a former teacher, and I don't know WHY, but Cowboy Baby is my 3 and 4 year olds' favorite book. The pictures are great, the theme of "finding your lost stuffed animals" is familiar, a book with Dad gets my husband to read it more, and the way the book lends itself to be read in silly voices must be the reasons it is a hit!! I am actually buying a second copy because our first is wearing out!! (Our original one was a garage sale gem. :))

This is the first book my son Hunter got when he was born. He's now 19 months old, and it's his favorite. I can't tell you how many times we've read it, but he delights in it every single time. No matter what other book I try to get him to read, we always have to read COWBOY BABY.

I am hoarse with all the re-readings of this wonderful book-- my toddler is totally hooked. A magical moment is when Sheriff Pa uses his lasso to get a twinkling star from the night sky for his son, and makes him his deputy.

The size of this book is huge, by children's books standards. Would qualify as a "floor book" as it is too big to hold comfortably. We have a copy of this book about 8-10 yrs old that is a nice size for lap reading. I purchased this copy of the book recently for a friend who just had a baby, and was disappointed at the big size. I did not see any specifications on the order page-----if they were there I did not see them. It has a nice story and I remember how much I loved reading it to my child who was snuggled in my lap. Also, our book did not come with a DVD, and I can't imagine it would need one, when it is so important to be close to your child while reading the book to them. The DVD is just one more "screen time" thing to avoid.

I have bought this book now 4 times as a gift, which is especially notable considering that it is out of print. I can't imagine why this incredible book would ever be out of print! Children interested in cowboys are especially drawn to this adorable story, but it is really appealing to all children. Cowboy Baby is just adorable. Sue Heap's best work.

My sister gave us this book for Christmas after her two young girls went crazy over it. Now my son is hooked! He squirms and wiggles during almost every other book but sits perfectly still for Cowboy Baby. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone!

Every night. And before every nap. Yeah, I'm starting to get sick of it, but not my 2 year old...he still requests it. The only negative is that my 7 year old heard the Kid Rock song "Cowboy" on the radio (I'm gonna be a cowboy, baby) and wonders if Kid Rock has read this book. I think I'm going to have to switch radio stations, at least while the kids are in the car.

I stumbled upon this book by chance. After the first read ~(with attempted Texan accent) I read this book every night for 6 weeks. A wonderful book which captivated my girls like no other.

If your child is a fan of Toy Story's JESSE or WOODY you will appreciate the innocent landscape of this charming tale. My two year old daughter can not get enough of Cowboy Baby's search for his missing animals. Although I've read this book a zillion times, my daughter manages to find new surprises and things to discuss in Heap's western terrain. I appreciate the fact that the story ends with everyone going to bed.
