4.0 out of 5 stars A little off base, but still great anime ..., January 26, 2000
By A Customer
The first three tapes of Cowboy Bebop were excellent, and then this one slipped alittle. Not enough to worry about since it still has great art, cunning action sequences and fun dialogue, but it tends to focus a little less on the main charaters which are so much of the entertainment in this series. Great touches, tho, with the criminal in 'HEAVY METAL QUEEN' being a caricaturial homage to Woody Allen (hanging out in Woody's: a kid's ice cream parlor....hmmm) and then in 'Waltz for Venus' all the designs for Venus are Muslim based. Interesting anime, touching, powerful and frenetic. It won't disappoint any anime viewer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slipped a little... but come on! It's Cowboy Beebop!, August 5, 2000

This review is from: Cowboy Bebop - Heavy Metal Queen (Vol. 4) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I guess perfection is difficult to maintain forever. But when you slip from perfection what do you get? "Pretty Darn Good." In Episode 7 we meet VT, a rough and tumble female space trucker who also has a heart of gold. Woody Allen gets blown up and kitties float around in zero-G. What's not to like? Episode 8 didn't really do a whole lot for me but the Bruce Lee-esque "be like water" teachings of Spike to a young gangster trying to help his sister did strike a chord.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cowboy Bebop fans, this video will not disappoint you., December 27, 1999
In this volume, which covers Episodes/Sessions 7 & 8, we get to see a developing storyline begin to form within the episodic sessions. Fans of heavy metal will not want to miss Session 7, as heavy metal music fills the background sound of the episode. The plot features an independent woman who goes by the name of V.T., and everyone is trying to guess her name. Truckers with C.B. radios will also grow very nostalgic with this episode, as V.T.'s C.B. handle is "Heavy Metal Queen", and she uses that handle to help Spike track down a very dangerous criminal. But what is her secret? Stay tuned. In Episode 8, we get to see Spike help a reputed gang member with a bounty on his head-- but this member is not all bad. Great gag with helium in this one. We also get to see a developing secret with a music box that was first mentioned in Episode 5. Overall, the video still has breathtaking qualities to it, and is an excellent addition to the series.
