After an interlude, the tenth tape of Bebop is finally released. 'Wild Horses' contains the ninteenth and twentieth episodes- 'Wild Horses' and 'Pierre Le Fou'. Like the previous episodes, these two maintain the pace and skill of the previous. 'Wild Horses' deals with Spike overhauling his brokendown Swordfish II on Earth with its maker Doohan who is revamping a relic space ship. Jet and Faye meanwhile are awaiting some space pirate hackers lurking in Earth's asteroid belt. One of the most interesting aspects of 'Wild Horses' is the use of Earth's gravity and the doom it holds for Spike's broken ship heading helplessly towards burning oblivion. The surprisingly practical ending is rather clever. 'Pierre Le Fou' is an odd and rather violent episode pitting Spike against a geneticly engineered human killing machine with broad powers. The action sequences are incredible in the beginning while Spike battles Pierre in a desolate city, and at the end when Pierre and Spike showdown in SPACELAND, a futuristic Disneyland theme park. Spike ends up shooting the stuffing out of a 'Goofy' look-a-like robot, battling on a rollercoaster, and being besieged by various cutsey automatons. Personally, I believe it is statement on the French and their aversion to Euro-Disney. Perhaps Watanabe was trying to say that as fierce the French may be, they are actually a load of whiney babies. All in all, these two episodes will only exhault the series among anime fans. Note: the music sets back a little awkwardly in the dub compared to the subtitled version, but the dub is top notch.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Little Anime That Could., August 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Cowboy Bebop - Wild Horses (vol. 10) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
So far, this series has been my all time favorite. And now things in this series get real juicy. Dont worry. Its not gonna turn into Evangelion. These two episodes show just how serious these four peoples pasts are. Even if series wavers a little, the music is still the best. The opening and closing are still the best. I never get tired of the opening song "Tank". One thing that bothered me is that I only get 2 episodes a volume, but I guess Bandai and AnimeVillage didnt wanna spoil us with this great animation
