I immediately liked four of the tracks, and others are growing on me. But, I'm a Carrie Underwood fan - love her voice - so it's unlikely I'm going to DISlike much of anything she does.

When it has came down to it, most of the American Idol contendors haven't really made strong songs. But for Carrie Underwood, I definitely was surprised about the twang from Cowboy Casanova, the first single from her 3rd album, Play On. The song has a lot of twang and strong feeling, which honestly a lot of songs from some of the more recent contendors like Kris Allen and Adam Lambert haven't been able to sincerely accomplish with their records. It really is one of those hidden surprises that really blew me away this year. I really hope Carrie can honestly pull out more feel good songs like this one soon. That is something artists like Rihanna and Beyonce' really haven't shown with their albums recently.Song: B 1/2+ |
