Nyssa Dupre is constantly on the move. Every time people find out that she is different, they run her out of town, and in the time of 1865, she would rather run than risk being hung as a witch. But she has been asked to come to Applegate Valley to meet an old man she has been writing to before he dies. But once she gets to Applegate, she meets up with Lucas Nash and his two brothers. What is a girl to do?
This was a painful read. This story would have been better set in a more contemporary era. To many inconsistencies like conveniently having a bottle of lube in 1865? And even though this is an erotic romance, it doesn't feel like a romance. The relationships seemed forced to me. The dialog is too contemporary to be set in the 1800's and takes away from the feel of the era. Even though the plot had potential, the inconsistencies, forced romance and contemporary dialog brings this story down. Save your money.

huge continuity problem cowboy genre kept getting mixed up with very modern language usage. the author should have left the story set in present time.

I've read other books by Glenn and have come to the conclusion that this is just not her genre. Like a couple of other reviewers, the historical setting paired with contemporary language was just too jarring for me. I gave up on this book before I had even gotten a quarter of the way through it. Simple things (keeping in mind the historical Western genre of the book) like using "Ms." instead of "Miss," were what ruined my reading experiences.
I will continue to read this author, but will certainly never read another historical piece of hers unless she can solve the problems with her 19th century settings and 21st century speech.

Cowboy legacy is an intense read that will at some points make you angry at the way they treat the women, but you'll get over it quit once you see how much love is displayed and how important communication is. Two thumbs up for passion and let the legacy continue.

This book while a period piece had a Coulter's Woman feel to it. The leading lady was a strong independent woman like in a Leah Brooke ménage from the Desire Oklahoma Series. Then this book had the added element of mystery/whimsy/magic. The inconsistencies mentioned in other reviews are very minor and do not take away from the excellent writing. If you like Maya Banks or Leah Brooke this is an good addition to add to your list. P. S. I also love the Rough Rider Series by Lorelei James and anything else she writes.
