Book Description

Hank Cooper pretended an average bull rider, going from town to town trying to get those elusive eight seconds. But when he and his best friend, Sam, come to the cowboy town of Clovis, California, he meets a woman destined to be his. Hank can’t run away from what he is any longer, but will she?

Tammie Flint is just a girl who wants to have a good time at the rodeo with her best friend--maybe even meet a few cute guys. She didn’t expect to fall in love with a cowboy or to put the lives of everyone she holds dear in danger.
Will any of them survive the Cowboy Moon?

I wanted the story to be a few 100 pages longer just so I could enjoy it longer. Sueski  |  3 reviewers made a similar statement

1.0 out of 5 stars Ugh--awful ending April 20, 2012
By ARB
Format:Kindle Edition
* spoiler *

This novella is very short, but I will admit the author wrote well. I actually am glad it was so short because if I had invested more than an hour for such a terrible ending I would have been royally pissed. The story focuses on two couples. One couple ends with the him dead and her lifeless in grief. The other couple separates, with him just walking away. I read romance novels because I expect a HEA. If I wanted sad and depressing I'd pick another genre altogether. I suspect the author will write a sequel and maybe fix one couple's ending, but I won't be there to read it. Not worth my time.

I just don't get the good reviews...

5.0 out of 5 stars I WANT MORE May 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Holy cow this was a good, quick read. I sadly read the entire thing in less than a day. I say sadly because I WANT MORE!!! Hank is a cowboy. A real true cowboy...with a wolfy side of course. Tammie is a 19 year old who has taken off to look for some fun. What she finds is definitely not what she expected. She and her best friend have traveled away from home to a rodeo. During their trip they run into Sam and Hank, two rodeo werewolves. They don't know they are werewolves at first, but it pretty much is love at first sight. In werewolf terms, that means Sam and Hank have found their lifelong mates. Of course this has a very tragic twist.

Tammie and Denise have been marked for dead by the upir, i.e. demons living in human bodies. Why? We really don't know. Hank falls for Tammie and Sam (hanks pack brother) falls for Denise pretty much instantly and take is upon themselves to protect them from the Upir. You will be shocked at how well the girls take finding out that they are in love with werewolves and how the story "ends." I put quotes on that because this story has one of the biggest cliffhangers I have ever read. It will definitely leave you screaming for more! It is fast-pced, sexy, sensual, and everything you could want from an alpha werewolf meeting his mate novel. I just want more!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of time April 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This was totally unsatisfying as a romance, as a short story or novella. It felt like an introduction to a full novel, but I would be disinclined to read it due to the bad taste which was left by the unsatisfactory and unhappy ending (if you can even call it an ending).

2.0 out of 5 stars Poorly done
The story and writing were poor. Fortunately I can say that her next book, Hunger Moon, is much, much better.

3.0 out of 5 stars Has potential but lacking
Has a good plot and potential but I found it lacking somewhat. The characters were hard to get invested in. I would still like to see what this author's other work is like.

More About the Author

I'm a cowgirl in Central California where the real happy cows are. My house is smack dab in the middle of my ranch and there's nothing I like better than drinking a cup of coffee in the morning and listening to my cows munch on the grass. I'm a professional runner, and by that I mean I run around my house chasing my toddler, running errands and running my household. My husband has the easy job!

When I'm not being a mom I enjoy being a nerd. I'm addicted to all things Joss Whedon. I wish I knew The Doctor and rode around in the TARDIS. I harbor a secret love of Star Trek and a childhood infatuation with Bruce Wayne. I like to sing loud and badly in the car to my Boston Station on Pandora and I have a weird obsession with lip balm. I watch movies with my friends who live across the country and get a perverse kick out of those mean ecards.

But the nerdiest of all is my voracious appetite for books. Ever since I was a kid I was reading everything I could get my hands on. I was reading adult fantasy novels in fourth grade, beginning with Piers Anthony and spiraling out to Anne McCaffrey, J.K. Rowling, Mercedes Lackey and Robert Jordan. I'm still positive I am the only kid who was grounded from their books when I got in trouble and it's still the worst form of punishment I can endure. My love for the paranormal started early as well. I loved watching werewolf movies like Silver Bullet and An American Werewolf In London and that carried over into my reading choices, but it was really Charlaine Harris and Patricia Briggs who inspired me to write my own paranormal romance novels.

Ever since Jr. High when I attempted to write my first book--a sad version of the Robin Hood story that shall never see the light of day--I dreamed of becoming a real author. I love cracking open a book and, for those few hundred pages, escaping into another world, living a different life and letting my imagination soar. That is what I hope to give to my readers: a small vacation from their lives where they can be entertained, absorbed, laugh and maybe cry. I want to do what so many wonderful authors have done before me and make my readers happy, if only for a few hundred pages.

So thank you for letting me live my dream. Thank you for reading my paranormal romance novels, for loving my main characters and hating the bad guys, for being so amazing with your reviews and warm, encouraging comments. Thank you.
