My grandmother owned a Cowboy singing book with music. I was disappointed this wasn't the same book with exactly the same songs, but that was just sentiment. I am very happy with the book and it was fun to hear songs from my childhood and read the words of past history, though I did not know the tune. I cannot read music, but the words tell the history and story of days long gone and I have enjoyed this purchase. Though it was aged in color and published in 1932, it certainly was well kept and it is so nice to add another "History" book to my collection. What a wonderful way to look into the life of cowboys and hear the words they used, learn their real lifestyle and leave with many "quotes" from a time of hardships, that once wrote as poetry seems so pleasant and makes one long for a simpler time. We have it made in today's world with everything at our fingertips, really, even one click away. But what a life these men lived, it was hard, but rewarding. A great addition to my collection of songbooks and history. Not sure which group it should be entered it, as it is a wonderful addition to both.
