My parents had an LP with songs 1 - 12 on it, and I loved it then, and love it now. It's great to have those extra songs on it. This is real American folk music, with guts, heart, soul, and humor. My kids like me to sing them to sleep with songs from this CD, and I'm not even a good singer!

Ed McCurdy carries the day on this CD. I first heard it as an LP 45 years ago and always remembered and especially liked Ed's singing of "The Santa Fe Trail" - it sure tells a vivid story. Lomax' songs are good but don't have the heart that McCurdy's do.
