These are great stands but a little hard to open legs out.

I don't know how well it is going to work outdoors, I'm probably going to need to get or make some sandbags.

The included case is very lightweight material, but works well.

Was looking for an inexpensive, lightweight stand to use with small umbrella or softbox and portable flash. This one works very well. Extending the legs was a little stiff at first, but a few drops of WD-40 helped. I found this flash braket to use with the stand and seems to make a good pairing. ePhotoStrobist Swivel Flash Bracket Umbrella Holder Studio Tilting Bracket for Nikon Canon E430 E580 SB600 SB800 SB900 by Ephoto INC bracketB I have used the stand fully extended with a 43" umbrella and so far it has been very sturdy. The included case is very lightweight material, but works well. My guess is that the case will not last near as long as the stand.

giving 3 starts for me this product means satisfactority built. it is light good for my flash. there is a bit of a problem opening the tripod the first time i opened the box that's why i said it's a bit flimsy. though it does support my Di622 flash. good for hobbyist who started strobes. better if you add the flash support for umbrella so you can tip it to an angle.
for the price of 10 bucks at over six feet in height, i think this would be a good buy just don't put heavy light on it coz the legs isn't sturdy enough. i would buy the same for another flash only stand.

Fantastic stand. I paid more for a lower quality before. Only has 3 sections instead of 4 that other stands of this caliber have. Has quick release clamps instead of usual screw in kind. Has rubberized feet. Securely holds a 60cm softbox.

Good lightweight stand for speedlights. I probably won't dare put on anything larger than a hotshoe speedlight with an umbrella on this stand as the base isn't very wide for balance, but for it's portability and price, it's a good stand to have. Once you put on an umbrella on this (or a softbox), be prepared to use sandbags to weigh it down if there's any soft of breeze around you. I used a 60" umbrella without sandbags, but it was a wind-free evening and I had an assistant by the stand.

The carrying case is a bit of a tight fit for the stand, an extra centimeter would have made a huge difference in the fit. A better fitting case would have gotten this five stars.

I read some reviews before I bought this, so I knew that it was a little on the flimsy side (you get what you pay for). But I have been careful with it, and have not had any issues with it. Will buy more from them.

Solid construction and works as expected. Intended for holding a portable flash and
small umbrella or softbox, this product does the job for a very reasonable price. Compact and light when folded down for carrying and storage, it sets up and folds down easily with nice friction locks. Black finish is appealing. The carrying case is OK, but a bit flimsy ... doesn't effect usability or value of this product.
I recommend this light stand for portable lightweight use.

I'll start by saying that I make a living by lighting film sets. I've seen all kinds of stands, good and bad, cheap and expensive. This is the worst lighting stand I have ever used - but this is also the most inexpensive lighting stand I have ever used. I get that people are on a budget. That's why I gave it 4 stars. Value. If I had to use this thing every day for work I would go insane. But, If you need a stand to help you do the occasional personal project, you will probably be quite satisfied.
The cheapest stands that I use for work are the ARRI kit stands, about $100. The most expensive stands that I use are American Grip Roadrunner 200 stands, about $7000. I got this Cowboy Studio stand as a daily deal for $15. It comes with a bag, not sure what that's for. It's really clumsy to open and uses cheap materials. That said, you will be hard pressed to find a better value, especially if it's just for occasional, personal use. Buy one or two!
