The Cowboy Studio photography background support system and backgrounds is a great addition to any studio. This system is useful both in the studio and on location due to its compact travel size and ease of setup. Making adjustments to the height and width is simple. The black finish is durable and professional.
These high-output daylight balanced compact fluorescent bulbs are ideally suited for digital photography. They also have very low heat so they don't get hot like the more common photo bulb choices.
One of the main questions are customers ask us is “what is the difference between continuous and strobe lighting?” Continuous lighting uses a constant light source to light your subject, meaning that your lights will stay on during the entirety of your photo shoot. Continuous lighting is recommended for beginners. Strobe lighting uses a flash of light at the moment your camera shutter opens to illuminate your subject. Many professionals use this type of lighting because it offers more control of the light.

For the price, this was an awesome buy. The construction was very easy and did not have any problems. But I did notice something that kind of bothered me. Anything in this package that can "adjust"in length or width felt cheap because the parts that releases and locks were made of plastic. But I did not get the feeling they were going to collapse on me at anytime.
I put up the backdrop stand by myself with no issues so that was good.
The 2 larger light stands works, felt sturdy does its job.
The mini light stand as felt sturdy and does its job.
The 3 lights - 2 out of the three lights fit perfectly onto the light stand with no issue. But the 3rd light had an issue with the bolt and nut catching to lock the light onto the light stand. I contacted amazon and they resolved my issue right away. So I am still very happy with everything.
All 3 lights turn on and work the way you think they would work (with an on and off switch). The only things that bulbs the lights came with were a bit not bright enough.
At first glance, the muslins looked pretty thin - but after purchasing a Eclipse Blackout curtain for the spare room I am using as my studio, you don't notice the thinness at all. Especially when you have lights on in front of the muslin. I only mention that because i have a ceiling light that is slightly behind it and if i turn it off and just use the studio lights, it was perfect.
You will need to find some way to iron the wrinkles out that was caused by the muslins being folded in the packaging, it took forever to! and when i was done, i noticed i missed a few spots so i'll have to go back and do some touch up. You also need to find a creative way to store my muslins. I was thinking a 6' pvc pipe so i can roll it on it and when i need to use it, i can slide the entire pvc pipe on the backdrop stand and just pull it down like a shade.
I will add more to this when I start to do some photo shoots to test out the equipment.
The kit includes Fancier WT803 light stands. If you are doing comparison shopping and wonder what is the differnce between Cowboy and Fancier it is a goose egg. Dodge Dart vs Plymouth Valiant... same car different label. Construction is good not rugged. I expected this level of qualithy given the price.
The Backdrop supports are adjustable to much wider backdrops. 6x9 is ok for tight shots. But an upgrade to wider and longer would be nice and possible with this kit.
