More About the Author

Kelly Wallace has written since the day she could hold a crayon in her hand. She soon learned though, after several hours of scrubbing, that white paper was a far better choice than white walls. Sighed at and lectured about her constant daydreaming, she put her imagination to good use as an adult and ultimately became a published author.

Everything Kelly writes about stems from personal experience. Her nonfiction books are based on decades as a professional psychic counselor and various health challenges. What about her romances? Yes! They contain scenes and characters she's known, witnessed or fantasized about, and places she's been.

Kelly was born and raised in Southern California. After 32 years on the west coast, she moved to the east coast and absolutely loved the changing seasons. However, she soon found herself in the Arizona desert for eight years. While the sunrises and sunsets could never be surpassed, she felt she left her soul behind and is once again, blissfully, living in Maryland. She has five grown daughters, various pets and grand-pets, sons-in-law, and one special guy who's become her muse.

Sarah Collins has plans for her life and those plans don't include becoming a guardian to her infant niece and nephews following her only sister and her husband's deaths in a car accident. She loves the kids, just isn't prepared to be a parent but isn't about to simply hand them over to her brother-in-law Raif either - not without paying him a visit and seeing for herself that he is ready, willing and able to handle the job and leave his playboy lifestyle behind.

Renowned photographer Raif Manning is more than willing to settle down and assume guardianship of his niece and nephews. He's bought a house near his sister in Kansas, where he intends to raise the children and he's hard at work restoring the old house into a home.

Sarah fully anticipated arriving at Raif's home, seeing that the kids are in good hands and signing over full guardianship to him, only when she arrives it's obvious that the house has been sadly neglected and it's filthy. There's no way she can in good conscious leave the children in such conditions. She's put off this visit and dealing with the legalities involved with guardianship of the kids for three months and now the kids have bonded with Raif and view her as the `wicked witch.' It shouldn't matter, she's only there to make sure that they're being cared for properly.

She has no desire to uproot them from the stability they've found with Raif but she isn't willing to allow them to be raised in such substandard conditions either. Sarah doesn't learn that Raif had just bought the house until after she goes on her uppity tirade.

The book is fast. It is a few days from 'hey I'm here to see the kids' to 'HEY...so now we are in love lets do it in the barn'. I don't normally mind that but this time I wanted more out of the story. If you're gonna give me a sex book by all means lets get to it but if you're gonna make me think about the welfare of three young children then give me more of the family dynamic. I didn't hate the book but it could have been so much more than what it is. I was left really feeling nothing for the characters and not really caring about the kids. The baby was only in the story once and there was no real bonding between them. It was not far fetched enough to be a fantasy or made up story but it wasn't real enough to make me care. If that makes any sense. I wanted to know more about the father/daughters relationship. It not enough to tell me about his playboy ways and how hes changed I want to really see it. I wanted to see the father/daughter reconciliation and the kids adjustment to having her there. It is okay but it really could have been great.

Cowboys Make Better Lovers (Western Romance - Romantic Comedy) Best Seller!

Sarah Collins was determined to do the right thing for her nephew's and niece since their parent's death and she barely knew them but wanted to make sure that were well cared for before she signed off total custody to Raif, she had to get back to California and plan for her wedding to Paul not stay in Kansas roasting her butt despite her air condition car!

Raif put aside his illustrious photography career to settle down and rear his nephew's and niece and he did not miss the New York in the least as he preferred vast amounts of the Kansas country side to the pomp and flash of his previous life. If only he could convince that with Sarah Collins to give him full custody of the kids, but when she entered the home he had recently purchased with a disgusted face and fire in her eye's he knew he was in for it.

Kelly Wallace definitely knows her stuff in writing her novel: Cowboys Make Better Lovers that made me want to run to the nearest rodeo and lasso one! Sparks fly from the beginning when Sarah takes a look at Raif's run down house and they quickly head south into a denied attraction to heated kisses, and raunchy hot sex in a barn loft! Sarah is the pampered daughter who can barely cook and Raif got the idea of her helping him to fix up the house thinking that she would sign his papers and head for the hills, but Sarah accepts his challenge even though she knows that she should have kept her big mouth shut!

Before Sarah Collins signs the papers granting her brother in law, Raif Manning, custody of her nephews and niece she heads out to Raif's home to see how they are doing. She's not happy with what she finds.

Raif wants the kids, and he's not going to let Sarah get in his way. Her money and sophistication can't buy them a better home as far as he's concerned. Sarah and Raife soon find that doing what's best for the kids, ends up being what's best for them as well.

Cowboys Make Better Lovers is a good story. It has some tender and romantic moments, and some very hot ones too, but I felt the story needed to be a bit longer to get them where they ended up. Sarah having a fiancé puts a bit of a damper on things as well. Cowboys Make Better Lovers is a little sexy, a little sweet, and has a happy ending for Raif and Sarah.
