Book Description

May 1, 2002
Welcome to the wonderful world of cowboy, cowgirls and the wide open spaces the live and work in. Ride with me as we travel the Big Sky country of Montana and down to the hill country of central Texas. As the song goes, "My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys," and it certainly has been for me. Join with me on a cattle drive or a branding day for the calves. Ride with excitement as hundreds of horses are gathered for the spring trip back to the ranch.

Enjoy the stories that have been shared with me by the Hollywood movie legends. Harry Carey, Jr., Hugh O'Brian, Baxter Black and Barry Corbin.

As the one and only American con, cowboys and cowgirls will live in your heart forever. Share it with someone special.

About the Author

Jon Sheppard is addicted to adventure. As a Navy Kid he traveled at a young age and saw the excitement of the world. As a young adult he had a boat charter, SCUBA diving business in the West Indies. Diving for sunken treasure and underwater photography was a way of life. In Tennessee he had a rock climbing school and was a whitewater river guide. On top of that he jumped out of very high flying airplanes. His highest jump was 20,000 feet. On the artistic side he played drums for the Country Music giants and did television production as a TV cameraman.

Jon now calls the high country of Colorado his home. In the winter he skis. In the summer he climbs mountains and runs rivers. In between time he travels, writes books and entertains all who he meets. He loves to share his happyness with others.
